LWS V5C6 How to Get Back?

Su Yan stared at his boyfriend before he freaked out. He grabbed Nie Chang by the lapel of the robe and shook him. “Ah Chang! What should we do now? I don’t want to spend the rest of my life in a novel! Wouldn’t that mean I won’t see my mother ever again?! And what about our house?! And our dog?! And won’t Old Lao and Gong Gong worry about you?!”
Nie Chang tried to grab his little darling’s hands and make him stop with shaking him. Unfortunately, Su Yan had already gotten so much into his panic that he didn’t even think of stopping.
“Ah Chang, what should we do? We definitely can’t stay here! You have to come up with something!”
“Ah Yan, darling …” Nie Chang frowned. “Stop shaking me already.”
“But —”
“Stop first, then we’ll talk.”
Su Yan stopped shaking him but still clung to his robe. “Then what do you want to say? You have to come up with something! I don’t want to be left alone here.”
Nie Chang heaved a sigh of relief and put his hands onto Su Yan’s shoulders. “First of all, you’re not alone. I’m still with you and I won’t leave. So don’t worry too much. I’m sure we’ll find a way to get back.”
“But how?” Su Yan’s eyes teared up. “I don’t want to have to live in a novel!”
“Alright, alright.” Nie Chang patted his head. “Let’s think about this slowly. We might not have a door where we can just go back but we came here through the system. So shouldn’t we be able to get back with the system? And even if we can’t it should at least be able to tell us how we can get back.”
Su Yan perked up. That was right! They could just ask the system! He wanted to take out his phone only to realize that … he didn’t have it anymore. Su Yan’s eyes teared up again. “Ah Chang! How are we supposed to ask the system? We’ve been dumped in this strange world and we don’t even have our clothes anymore. My phone was in my pocket! Now it’s gone!”
Nie Chang hurriedly patted his darling’s head. “Ah, I’m sorry, I didn’t think of that. But don’t worry! I’m sure the system wouldn’t let us be stranded in your novel.”
Su Yan frowned. “Are you sure? It’s a very mean system. Maybe it wants to get rid of me? I did cheat it for some experience points.”
Nie Chang sighed and wiped those tears away. “No. It wouldn’t. Who could bear to get rid of someone as lovable as you? Hm?”
Su Yan pursed his lips. Well, that was right. Other than those experience points he had gotten through the practice tasks a little bit dishonestly, there really was nothing the system should have against him. So … “I guess not?”
“You see? In that case, the system will have given us some way out. We just need to think about it and we’ll find it.”
Su Yan nodded eagerly. Thankfully, Nie Chang was with him! Now, they really had a chance to get out of here. “So what do we do now?”
“Mn, I would say we first have to find a way to use the system without your phone.”
“Ah? But how can we do that? We don’t have my notebook either.”
Nie Chang nodded and grabbed his darling’s cheeks. “Yes, but do you remember how you got the system?”
Su Yan blinked. “How I got the system? Wasn’t it just there suddenly?”
“Mn, exactly. And it was on your phone and your notebook and you could even use it from my notebook, couldn’t you?”
Su Yan perked up. “That’s right!”
“So I’d say you don’t need your phone specifically. The system could also be somewhere around here. We just have to find it. And maybe then we can open the special dimension from there and return on that way.”
“That sounds great! Ah, you’re the best!” Su Yan hugged his boyfriend, cupped his cheeks and kissed him.
Nie Chang grinned. “Mn, so you don’t have to worry anymore. Let’s just search for the system.”
“Mn. Where do we start?”
“Well … We’ve been transported into this room so I hope it’ll be somewhere around here. But then again there might be different places where it can appear so it shouldn’t be important. Let’s just have a look around.”
Su Yan nodded and let go of his boyfriend, his gaze already traveling everywhere. He was the one who had come up with Ziju An’s study and everything inside so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a thing where the system could be inside. It should be something that was similar to his phone or his notebook. Something that could be used to navigate. Something that was like that …
He looked around and his gaze finally zeroed in on a shelf holding several jade and wooden scrolls. Aha! That had to be it! A scroll was just like a display where things could be shown and if they also used a brush, they should be able to enter stuff into the system. It was certainly one of them!
Su Yan bounced over and took the first scroll. It was inside a cover so he hurriedly took it off and threw it to the side before he unfurled the scroll. Inside … were lots of characters.
Su Yan frowned. This didn’t look like the system at all! He threw the thing away and grabbed the next scroll.
Behind him, Nie Chang caught the scroll and heaved a sigh of relief. His little darling wasn’t intending to treat the things here all like that, right? Was this really still the same person that had screamed at him when he picked that mirror up?
Ah, come to speak of it … Nie Chang turned to the mirror and picked it up again. A mirror was probably really suitable to display the system? He looked at it and indeed. Just a moment later, something that looked like the main page of the system turned up.
