OMF V8C111 Not Easy to Mistake

Wu Ya barely stopped where he was, staring at the dragon with wide eyes. This … this clearly wasn’t Qiu Ling. In fact, he knew just who this person was. “Xin Lan?” This was the person who had told him all about what had happened with Jinde and Chun Yin, there was no doubt about that. In any case, Xin Lan had a pretty unique appearance.

Xin Lan narrowed his eyes but still lowered his hand when he realized who this person was. “Wu Ya. What’s the matter with rushing at us like this?” He still kept Hua Lin Yu behind him, not ready to completely put down his guard even though he knew this guy. When it came to the life of his lover, he couldn’t be careful enough. Mortals were rather fragile. Even though Hua Lin Yu had made a lot of progress in the last few years while they had been traveling, he still didn’t want to risk anything.

Hua Lin Yu wasn’t quite sure what was happening but he just stuck to his lover, feeling that that couldn’t be wrong. He curiously poked out his head though, trying to get a good look at the other person.

Wu Ya stared back and realized that, well, they indeed were a couple of dragon and human. He felt disappointed deep inside but still gave a wry smile. “Well, I mistook you.”

“Mistook me for who?” Xin Lan also knew that mistaking him really wasn’t that easy. Not to mention his hair color, just the mask on his face alone was a dead giveaway. So when people said something like this to him, he always felt that they really were making things too easy for themselves.

Wu Ya rubbed his neck, feeling even more awkward when he was questioned more closely. “The people from the village you just passed were a little nervous after seeing you there so they contacted me. Since they didn’t know who you were, they just said that it was a couple of dragon and human. I couldn’t help but think of Chun Yin’s son.”

Xin Lan furrowed his brows and then remembered that Wu Ya had seen Qiu Ling together with Zhong Jing Yi at the Yun Zou Sect. “So it was like that. Well, you got it wrong.” He already wanted to turn away and lead Hua Lin Yu somewhere else but his lover was still standing on the spot, looking at Wu Ya curiously.

“So you know each other?” He couldn’t help but be curious. Over in the dragon realm, there had been a lot of people who knew who Xin Lan was just based on his appearance. He was kind of famous there. But in all this time, he had never met anyone who was close to him aside from Jinde. So finding somebody who could have a conversation like this with Xin Lan was something he couldn’t help but want to know more about. Were they friends? Had they met before? If he could, he wanted to pull Wu Ya aside and ask him about all the things he knew about Xin Lan.

Xin Lan faintly raised his brows when he realized that his lover didn’t have any intentions to leave yet. He sighed and then turned back to Wu Ya. “Well, since you’re already here, tell us where there is something interesting to see. I’m traveling around with my fiance. He has never been to the spiritual beasts’ territory before so anything will do.”

Wu Ya’s eyes widened and he couldn’t help but take another look at that youth. So that was Xin Lan’s fiance. He felt a little surprised at that. Still, this wasn’t asking too much and if he was following along, the other spiritual beasts also wouldn’t be as worried. “Well, let’s go then.” He trudged over and then leaned down a little, giving Hua Lin Yu a bright smile. “What’s your name?”

This youth was quite cute. Actually, he felt like it was a bit of a pity that he was with somebody like the grumpy Xin Lan but he knew better than to get between a dragon and his partner. He hadn’t had such thoughts about Chun Yin and Jinde even though he had been interested back then, so he naturally wouldn’t entertain the idea when it came to a person he hardly knew.

Hua Lin Yu was ecstatic when he saw that Wu Ya seemed interested in having a chat with him as well. “I’m Hua Lin Yu.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Wu Ya. I’m from the spirit beast tribe.”

Hua Lin Yu nodded, having figured out that much already from the conversation between this man and Xin Lan. “So, how do you know Xin Lan?” This was the really important question here. He really couldn’t wait for the answer.

Wu Ya scratched his head, not quite sure how to answer. “Actually … I don’t really know him that well. I met him once at the Yun Zou Sect when I was looking for a person. Other than that, this is only the second time we’ve met.”

Hua Lin Yu stared at him, unable to believe what he just heard. He had thought that this was a prime opportunity to find out more about Xin Lan’s life before. Now it turned out that this guy knew Xin Lan even less than he did. Was there really nobody to ask?

Xin Lan reached out, his fingers snaking beneath Hua Lin Yu’s hair and fondly rubbing his neck. “If you want to talk to somebody about that, you’ll have to look for someone else. In any case, I’m really not that familiar with him. But I’m sure he will be able to tell us a little more about the spirit beast tribe. I guess it’s not wrong to say that he is somewhat of an Elder here.”

Wu Ya immediately puffed out his chest, not thinking too much about Hua Lin Yu’s strange expression. “That’s right! In the whole of the spirit beast tribe, you won’t find anybody better suited to lead your around than me. Just leave it to Wu Ya!” He grinned and then waved for them to follow him. Clearly, he already had a destination in mind.
