RMN C395 Already His Person

“Was his senior able to save him?”

Mei Chao Bing gave his lover a look. Clearly, Yun Bei Fen was already invested in the story by this time. He, on the other hand, couldn’t help but give blue butterfly a complicated look.

This … this was clearly the story of a young woman’s broken heart, wasn’t it? Otherwise, what was it with ‘could only look but not touch’? Was that the kind of thing you’d say if you saw someone saving a junior that they had a platonic relationship with? He didn’t think so.

He rubbed his forehead but didn’t interrupt her. Anyway, Yun Bei Fen was entertained and while he himself hadn’t managed to gain any valuable information from this yet, he was pretty sure that she would get to the point sooner or later.

Come to think of it, she had said that she became detached from the world and that was something she disliked about this ability of hers. Most likely, having somebody who was aware that they were conversing with the actual her instead of just having a really weird dream was something she didn’t get to experience often. She would gladly converse with them as long as she could.

Telling stories … it was a way of passing time and amusing two juniors. Other than them, who else did she have that she could do this with? The other three guardians? He was afraid that after knowing each other for hundreds of years, while they would still have a good time seeing as they were friends, it wasn’t quite the same. Most likely, blue butterfly was lonely.

For a moment, he didn’t pay attention to what she was saying. He couldn’t help but think of his own Master. If he had also had an ability that developed over time, slowly but surely getting to the point of complete mastery, then what was the downside of it? What had he needed to give up to have that?

He wasn’t sure but he was worried about what kind of answer he would get if he ever found out. Maybe the reason for why his Master had become like this was indeed that he hadn’t been able to take the development of this ability. It wasn’t an excuse for what he had done but at the very least, it was an explanation. Mei Chao Bing couldn’t help but be happy about that.

Yes, it didn’t change that his Master was a scumbag who had betrayed their sect, killed an Elder, made him the scourge of the sect, and basically forced his hand in killing his own senior martial brother. But at the end of the day, he was human.

Not everyone would be able to stand the test of their endurance when each day was progressively getting worse in some aspect. And knowing that he hadn’t just been a bad person from the very beginning but had slowly morphed into this, maybe giving up hope on the righteous side or whatever it was, that actually gave him some peace of mind.

By the time Mei Chao Bing resurfaced from his thoughts, blue butterfly had already gotten a bit further into her story. “Truth be told, I have no idea how he did it. Clearly, there was no skill involved in shattering the barrier. But I guess in a dream, you can’t expect too much. The only thing that was important to him at that time was opening it so he could save that junior martial brother. And so he did. For the details, he probably didn’t care himself. If I had asked him, he might have said it was the power of love or something.

“Anyway, if you save somebody, they will usually be grateful. In this case, it was exactly the same. That junior immediately threw himself into his arms, still crying beautifully. It could really make somebody unhappy.”

Yun Bei Fen didn’t look as if he understood what she was saying that. “Why? Isn’t it good that he was set free? After all, even though he was from another sect, weren’t you on the same side?”

Blue butterfly nodded. “You’re a good child. Anyway, it’s no problem to free him, but why does he have to hug that senior martial brother like this? I mean, would you like it if somebody hugged your senior martial brother?”

Yun Bei Fen seriously pondered that question. Actually, he had seen senior martial brother Shen and his third senior martial brother hug quite a few times but never minded. Why would he? Anyway, the two of them always looked happy when they did. Wasn’t that a good thing?

Thinking of his first and second senior martial brother though, he never really saw anyone hug them. With second senior martial brother, they were probably afraid that they would get pranked, while most people kept a bit of a distance from his first senior martial brother. Actually, come to think of it, the only one who hugged his first senior martial brother was himself. Did people also think that this was a problem?

Blue butterfly and Mei Chao Bing looked at him, wondering what was going on in his head for him to look this serious.

Blue butterfly blinked and then turned to Mei Chao Bing. “Do you mind if somebody hugs him?” She pointed at Yun Bei Fen, wondering if she was somehow not making sense to these two.

Mei Chao Bing faintly raised his brows, feeling that she really wasn’t asking the right people here. “Senior blue butterfly, Fen’er and I are already in a relationship and set to be married in the future. Why would I have a problem with it if somebody hugs him?

“Anyway, the ones who do are close to him. This means that he has more support in his life than just me. Why wouldn’t I want that? If people are trying to hug him with bad intentions, then, of course, I will have a bone to pick with them. But I don’t have a problem with it as long as Fen’er doesn’t. But as I said, we are already in a relationship so I guess that situation can’t compare to yours back then.”

“Ah.” Blue butterfly nodded slowly, feeling that he actually wasn’t wrong. Back then, she and that senior martial brother hadn’t had any relationship other than being from the same sect. It was just that, like all those others who admired him, she had hoped that one day, she would be able to throw herself into his arms while crying this beautifully. In other words, she had just been needlessly jealous.

But Mei Chao Bing, he didn’t have a reason to do so. After all, this person, he was already his.
