OMF V8C188 Everything Started with Him

Leng Jin Yu made sure that Yi Zan had settled down his family and then went off with Jinde. Walking into the room, he could already see that Jinde was in a tangled mood. He stopped in his tracks for a moment, wondering if he should say something. This matter was definitely about Xin Lan. Most likely, things had turned out to be even worse than he had thought.

He finally sighed and then went over, pulling Jinde into his arms. “If there’s anything you need, you can tell me. I’ll support you. It doesn’t matter if it is about Xin Lan or anything else. I will always be there for you.”

Jinde turned around to him, raising his brows. “About Xin Lan?”

Leng Jin Yu raised his brows as well, a little confused. “You seemed to be a bit … lost in thought. I thought it was about that. Isn’t it?”

Jinde chuckled and turned in his arms, hugging his waist. “That matter with Xin Lan is definitely complicated but we’ve already spoken about it and I will try my best. In any case, when we are back in the dragon realm, there will be a better chance to solve it since there will be more for me to go off. I can scour some texts on our people. That should help with finding a solution.

“Just now … to be honest, I was thinking of the future. Our future.” His expression seemed just as tangled as before but after a moment, he sighed again and opened up. “You know, I just can’t believe it yet. I’ve waited for so long to get you back. And after everything that happened back then, I wasn’t even sure if things would turn out well after I had you at my side again.

“Now, we’re married following the traditions of my and your people. We are going to move back to the dragon realm and even going to have a child. I guess I just can’t help but feel that this is a little strange.”

Leng Jin Yu reached up and brushed through his golden strands of hair, his gaze a little apologetic. “I guess so much has gone wrong that it’s difficult to believe that we could actually have this much luck for once. I do get that feeling. To be honest, if I stopped to think about it, it just seems unreal. As if in the next moment, I would wake up and find out that all of this is just some kind of dream.”

Jinde smiled wryly. “Exactly this! I can’t help but wonder if I’m still in the Yun Zou Sect, sitting at the ground of that lake, meditating to regenerate my soul, and inadvertently fell asleep. And now, I’m just having a nice, long dream. And from one moment to the other, the dream could be over.

“That is the thought that I have. In moments like these when things are really about to turn for the better, I can’t help but become a little anxious when I’m alone. It’s better when you are at my side. It can’t change the situation but it does calm me down.”

Leng Jin Yu leaned closer and gave him a kiss on the lips. “I know exactly what you mean. I feel like as long as I can hold onto you, everything is alright. Maybe it is because I feel that I don’t have enough imagination to come up with everything you say and do. Or maybe it is just that I feel like fate couldn’t be so cruel to take such a dream away from me when you are at my side. I don’t know. But it does feel secure.”

Jinde nodded and then sighed, shaking his head. “In any case, you are here now. Let’s not talk about that. How did the rest of the talk go?”

“Well, I guess they’ll need a bit of time to get used to this idea but it shouldn’t be a problem. They seem to be quite stoked to be able to have a part in this. There’s only the problem with your name left.” A hint of embarrassment flickered over his features but he schooled his expression right after, making even Jinde doubt if he had really seen that. “I thought about it and considering our past, I thought maybe we should just refer to each other as martial brothers again. Remember how we originally did that? I think that it would seem quite loving as well. And I for one could get used to it. I’m not sure if you could?”

Jinde looked at him a little oddly but he did have to say that the idea wasn’t bad. “Well, that is definitely something we can get used to more easily. I still need another name though. After all, while you might be able to call me martial brother, everybody else won’t. And that is the real problem.”

Leng Jin Yu nodded even though he felt that slipping up themselves was also a big problem. “Have you thought of something yet?”

Jinde sighed deeply and let go of him, wandering to the window even though he couldn’t even open it to look outside. “Finding something … I’ve lived so many millennia with this name, it is difficult to get used to something else. I can’t even tell you if I would react to it.”

Leng Jin Yu walked over, taking his hand and interlacing their fingers. “You don’t need to know right now. We still have a bit of time.”

Jinde nodded but he also didn’t feel like he should take more time. The sooner he could get used to the new name, the better. “Well, maybe I will just go with something that I have some kind of relationship to.”

Leng Jin Yu raised his brows at that. “Can you think of any such name?”

Jinde looked pensive before he turned back around to his husband. “What do you think of Jiang Li?”

Leng Jin Yu slightly furrowed his brows, trying to think if he had ever heard that name anywhere. “That name is …?”

“My father’s name. I figured that it’s something I would have some reaction to since I recognize it. Also …” The corners of his mouth lifted in a sweet smile and he inched closer to his husband again, reaching up to wrap one arm around his neck. “If not for what my father did for our Master, the two of us never would have met. So in a way, everything started with him. I feel like it would be a fitting name.”
