OMF V9C372 No Way to Put It into Words

When Qiu Ling and Jing Yi arrived in the dragon realm, Qiu Ling finally sighed. He had held back from telling him before but now, he couldn’t keep it from him any longer. He turned to him and hesitated for a moment about how to say it. In the end, he sighed again. “There is something I didn’t want to tell you before.”

Jing Yi looked at him in confusion. He had no idea which ‘before’ Qiu Ling was referring to, so he also couldn’t imagine what this may be about and instantly got worried. Since he said it now that they were in the dragon realm, could this be about their wedding or him needing to give up his soul? He didn’t want anything to go wrong with either of those!

Qiu Ling paused when he saw Jing Yi’s expression turn this shocked but he only needed a moment to calm down. Anyway, he hadn’t said anything so Jing Yi might just be worried. “Earlier, when I contacted Jinde about Xiang Yu, he told me that Jin Ling apparently found out where he was. They put down some formations to keep the child safe but it’s a risk.”

Jing Yi wasn’t sure what to think. He was glad that it wasn’t what he had feared but … he hadn’t wanted this either. He closed his eyes and then just hugged Qiu Ling’s waist. “I’m sorry.” He knew how much his family meant to Qiu Ling. Hearing about something like that had to have been difficult for him.

Jing Yi closed his eyes. He couldn’t help but notice that Qiu Ling had kept quiet about this for his sake. The whole time while he was having fun, he had probably thought about what might be going on in the dragon realm. “Thank you.” It seemed like an odd thing to say in this situation but he still wanted to say it just to acknowledge how Qiu Ling had thought on his behalf.

Qiu Ling hugged him back and took a deep breath. He knew he had made the right decision. He had been sure of that even before but it was nice to hear it from Jing Yi as well. “It’s alright. Anyway, we should head back if you don’t mind.”

Jing Yi nodded and stepped back. “Let’s go then.” In the dragon realm, it was still early evening so even though Jing Yi was tired, it was still best to take care of this now. Well, even if it had been later, he knew that Qiu Ling wouldn’t feel comfortable waiting any longer.

The two of them went to the room next to theirs and found Jinde, Leng Jin Yu, and Xiang Yu in the courtyard, all of them looking at the shell holding the child with vigilance. Some of the tension had already left them after nothing else had happened since their return but naturally, they wouldn’t be as relaxed anymore as they had originally been.

Jing Yi couldn’t help but take a long look at the shell. He hadn’t been with them when they went to get it and he also hadn’t been there for the ceremony. Thus, this was the first time he actually saw it. He roughly knew how a child was created this way but seeing it and hearing about it was still different. Right now wasn’t the moment for curiosity though.

Qiu Ling had taken a glance at the shell as well, making sure that nothing had happened to his sibling. Even though Jinde had told him, he still felt more relieved after being able to take a look himself. After that, he turned at Jinde and Leng Jin Yu, his brows furrowing. “How are you?”

Jinde looked at him, seeming tired for once. He couldn’t help it. If it had been anyone else, he wouldn’t be as worried or think as much but with this being Jin Ling … it was exhausting just thinking about it.

He wasn’t sure what to do about it either. Just as Leng Jin Yu had told Xiang Yu before, there were a lot of things to do and anyway, that was Jin Ling. He couldn’t bring himself to hurt him, not even in this situation. In fact, he wasn’t sure what it would take. Seeing Jin Ling about to kill his other children? Yes, maybe then, he would give up on him even if it would break his heart.

Looking at Qiu Ling, Jinde couldn’t help himself and pulled him closer, holding him tightly. There was no way to put his feelings into words at this moment but this hug said it all.

Qiu Ling furrowed his brows and then hugged him back. “It’s alright. I won’t let him do anything to my sibling.”

Jinde smiled wryly. “I’d be happy if you didn’t have to fight with each other at all and nobody came to harm.”

Qiu Ling pursed his lips. The hate between him and Jin Ling was mutual and, obviously, it was precisely about this person in front of him. Jin Ling hated that Chun Yin had been Jinde’s lover and that he as Chun Yin’s son had received Jinde’s love. On the other hand, Qiu Ling hated Jin Ling for the constant taunts in the past about Biao Han being married to both his father and Jian Heng.

Also, Qiu Ling had to admit that he was jealous of Jin Ling for having the opportunity to grow up in Jinde’s care. That was something he himself would have been more than happy to receive but the chance had been taken from him through no fault of his own. Naturally, he wasn’t happy with somebody else getting what he had wanted so much and then screwing it up. If it had been him … he never would have disappointed Jinde. That was how he thought.

“I won’t do anything to him unless he tries something first. I can promise you that.” When it came to Jin Ling, this was the most he could do. As for whether it would come to that kind of situation … who could say for sure?
