Shen An De turned to look at Qiu Ling. “Where is he?”
Qiu Ling raised his brows but didn’t know what to say. “Well … Jing’er and I went to get Shao Hai and the disciples from the Yun Zou Sect. So … if you want to know where Xiang Yu is, shouldn’t your wife be able to answer that better?”
With that, everyone turned to Hong Ai. While some of them weren’t aware that the person they were looking for was a fallen god, they were able to tell from the atmosphere that this person going missing was something they should worry about more than Niu Hai’s disappearance.
Shen An De turned to Hong Ai. Actually, he wasn’t as worried about Xiang Yu anymore as he had been before but that had also been under the assumption that he was close to Qiu Ling and would be under his observation. A fallen god being loose in the mortal realm was still worrisome, even if the fallen god in question looked like an adorable youngster that couldn’t hurt a fly. After all, their looks were deceiving. They could still crush you in a heartbeat.
Hong Ai could only shake your head. “I don’t know either.”
Jing Yi furrowed his brows. “Didn’t he want to get his brother?”
Qiu Ling gave a hum. “He did but he should have come back from that long ago. It only takes a moment for him to get there and back, after all. So either his brother wasn’t interested in coming to this gathering or something else happened along the way.”
Wu Ya next to him looked from one person to the other. “Then … should I go and check? I’ve been to the Hua family’s estate before so I do know the way.”
Qiu Ling immediately shook his head. “No, that wouldn’t help. With how fast he can switch from one place to another, you likely won’t find him there.” He fell silent for a moment and then leaned over to Jing Yi. “I’ll go over to the other room for a moment, alright? I think I might have an idea where he is.”
Jing Yi looked at him in surprise but still nodded. Even though he didn’t understand what Qiu Ling had thought of, he trusted him. “Sure. If there’s any way I can help …”
Qiu Ling shook his head. “No, I … I’ll just contact Leng Jin Yu real quick.” Naturally, Leng Jin Yu wasn’t the person he actually meant but it was close enough.
Jing Yi nodded in understanding and watched him get up.
Meanwhile, the others had frozen.
Even Hong Bao who had been completely focused on the snacks on her plate lifted her head. “Leng Jin Yu, like Grandmaster Leng of the Jian Yi Sect?”
She had started to learn more about the cultivation world when she originally entered the Chun Feng Sect but that had mostly been in terms of the demon-hunting sects and some demonic sects that her previous Master suspected of sheltering demons in their midst. After joining the Ye Zhong Order though, she had finally learned more about the other sects.
The Jian Yi Sect and the other premier sects had naturally come up and her new Master happened to have a very high opinion of Leng Jin Yu so she had mentioned him once or twice. Thus, when she heard a slightly familiar name and noticed how everyone reacted strangely, she felt like making sure that she was on the right track.
Qiu Ling ignored the issue and continued walking to the door.
Jing Yi nodded though. “Yes, him.” He wasn’t sure if he should say more, especially since Leng Jin Yu had been in the Yun Zou Sect for a while.
The others still continued to look at him in a daze but they slowly recovered.
There were few people who didn’t admire Leng Jin Yu among the cultivators and practitioners alike. And naturally, the disciples that had gathered that day weren’t any different.
Ma Zhi Wu couldn’t help but sigh. “Grandmaster Leng …” Despite the fact that their Yun Zou Sect had a Grandmaster as well, Leng Jin Yu of the Jian Yi Sect was still a legend to them. “I wouldn’t have thought you knew him.”
Jing Yi smiled wryly, unsure how to explain. “Well, you could say he’s … a relative?”
The others stared at him in a daze, once again unsure what to say. Finally, it was Wu Min Huan who sighed. “Well, I guess it’s no wonder then that you managed to ascend in such a fashion. As expected of somebody related to Grandmaster Leng!”
Jing Yi’s lips twitched. Actually, Leng Jin Yu was related to Qiu Ling and not him but … he felt like he didn’t want to get into the details of that so he simply pretended that it was as the others thought.
At the same time, Qiu Ling stopped in the doorway and raised his brows at the person that had just been walking up to the door. “You’re late!” He didn’t stay to say anything else though and simply went to the room he shared with Jing Yi. After all, there was still that transmission to be done.
Meanwhile, Niu Hai watched him walk down the corridor before shaking his head and entering the room Qiu Ling had just left. Seeing everyone else already gathered, he smiled wryly. “Sorry, I’m late.” He went to sit next to Yue Lin, taking a glance to see how he was holding up.
Only when he was sure that his friend was alright did he look around more closely. He blinked his eyes after seeing everyone and couldn’t help but lean closer to Yue Lin. “Didn’t junior martial brother Jing say there would be a cute junior martial sister?”
Yue Lin glanced at him and then nodded at Hong Bao. “Shouldn’t that be her?”
Niu Hai looked over and then froze. “That … that’s the Grandmaster’s sister-in-law though!”
Yue Lin gave a hum. “Well, I guess it depends on whether you have the guts then.”
Niu Hai really wanted to cry. There was having guts and then there was this! He definitely wouldn’t try it. Not to mention that there was already a guy sitting next to her … Ah, somehow, he felt like he had been deceived.
