OMF V9C266 Not His Business

Back at the Hei Dian Sect, the group around Qiu Ling and Jing Yi was standing on the spot, not sure what to do.

“Well … do you still want to take a tour through the sect?” Shen An De looked at everyone else, feeling like that plan was about to be abandoned.

Fei Bai Mu shook her head. “I was mostly asking for my disciple. Since he’s gone …” She naturally didn’t care about touring a demonic sect. While their relationship might not be bad, that didn’t mean that she was that interested in their inner workings. Not to mention that there were more important things.

She turned to Jing Yi but then realized that she wasn’t sure how to address him. Originally, she had only seen him as the dragon king’s lover but, actually, he was an ascended deity. In the world of cultivation, that meant that his status was actually higher than hers. Also, in a sense, he seemed to be their sect’s Grandmaster’s son-in-law?

Jing Yi realized that she was looking at him and hastily shook his head. “I’m also not that interested, to be honest. I’ve already gone to see the people I wanted to see. While seeing the sect is nice, it’s not that important to me.” Yes, maybe it was because the time spent in the Hei Dian Sect had been short but he didn’t care too much about the place itself and only about the people he had met and the memories he had made here.

Fei Bai Mu nodded, having gotten around the dilemma she had felt herself faced with. “If you don’t mind, maybe we could have a chat? There was something I wanted to ask you before but it wasn’t convenient with Xiao Li and my disciple around.”

Jing Yi nodded. “About Leng Jin Yu?” He had already thought before that she might want to ask about him and Jinde so he wasn’t surprised.

Fei Bai Mu smiled faintly but shook her head. “Of course, I would also like to know how the two of them are doing but that has time. Rather than that, I would like to know something about you.”

Jing Yi raised his brows and then turned to look at Qiu Ling, wondering if he got what was going on.

Qiu Ling was just as puzzled as him but at least he caught himself earlier. “Maybe we should indeed go back inside then.”

Fei Bai Mu nodded and turned to Shen An De and Ai Hua who led the way. She couldn’t help but think of how Xin Lan was still in the Grandmaster’s palace right now. Maybe it would be good to ask him to come and sit down with them as well? After all, this was about Hua Lin Yu and if things between them really got better … well, even if not, he might be able to provide some insight.

When the group reached the door, Fei Bai Mu spread out her spiritual sense to look for Xin Lan. He wasn’t far away. Clearly, Hua Lin Yu hadn’t gone far when he originally went to eat the spiritual fruit.

She turned to Shen An De and motioned in the direction. “Grandmaster Shen, why don’t you lead everyone to the room we were in before? I’ll go and get Xin Lan. I’d like to have him with us for this matter.”

Shen An De nodded, even though he still didn’t know what she wanted to do.

Thus, the group soon gathered at the table where they had already been sitting previously, just that three people were now missing.

Jing Yi used the opportunity to turn to Qiu Ling and ask about the time they had spent apart. “Did everything go well?”

Qiu Ling nodded. “Yes, everything is done. Now, it’s just time to wait until the child will be born.”

Jing Yi couldn’t help but ponder. “That … does it take as long as it does for humans?”

Qiu Ling hesitated but finally nodded. “It should.” At the very least, he hadn’t heard anything contrary to that. But then, he wasn’t very familiar with these things. After all, he had still been young and not interested in children when he lived at the palace, and then later, he was all alone for a long time and didn’t spend enough time with anyone to pick up on those things.

It wasn’t wrong to say that he had indeed lacked some common sense when he became king. Things that were natural to others had been completely new to him. And even though he had managed to learn a lot of that knowledge in a short amount of time to better blend in, without anyone to confide in, there had been things he hadn’t been able to inquire about. This way of having a child was among them. When the topic came up, he usually just hid behind his ridiculous act so people wouldn’t realize what was really going on.

Opposite them, Shen An De looked from one person to the other. “Is somebody expecting a child?”

The two of them turned toward him and Jing Yi finally nodded. “Two friends of ours. One of them is from the dragon race and the other human like me.”

“Oh.” Shen An De nodded but didn’t think too much about it. Actually, this was a topic he didn’t like to think about.

Next to him, Ai Hua’s expression was a little odd as well.

Jing Yi couldn’t help but notice and felt like he had brought up something unnecessary. Come to think of it, these two should have been married for a long time but they didn’t have any children. Judging from their expressions, there was more to that than them not being interested in having any.

For a moment, he wondered if he should ask but then, it also didn’t seem to be his business. When it concerned Leng Jin Yu and Jinde, they could openly talk about it because they were family. These two though … even calling them friends was a bit presumptuous. He really didn’t want to pry into their matters.
