OMF V9C375 It’s Better to Be Safe Than Sorry

Qiu Ling rolled his eyes. Of course, something was happening on his wedding day! It just wouldn’t be his life if there were no bad news when he was currently trying to enjoy life for once.

Gritting his teeth, he called the person in but his expression fell further when he saw Xiao Dong with the box and an expression that spelled disaster. “What happened?”

Xiao Dong hurriedly put the box down, still worried to ruin this part of his king’s big day. Well, not that you could really ruin it further than telling him that the demon king was in town. “When I went to get the robes, I noticed somebody staring at me from a window on the main street. I checked and happened to see their face for a moment. It should have been the demon king. I met him once at the Yun Zou Sect so I recognized him.”

Qiu Ling pursed his lips. “So that’s where he was hiding.” He pondered for a moment and then patted Jing Yi’s back. “You put on the robe already. I’ll go and deal with it.”

Jing Yi stared at him in a daze and then rushed after him when Qiu Ling turned away. “Wait! You’re not going to fight him, are you?” He knew that Qiu Ling was strong but this was the demon king they were talking about here. He shouldn’t be that much weaker. What if Qiu Ling got injured? Forget about the wedding, he might not even return in one piece!

Qiu Ling waved though. “Don’t worry. I promised Jinde I wouldn’t unless he does something first so I won’t. I simply want to take some precautions so he won’t ruin our big day. After all, he just saw Xiao Dong. Who knows if that won’t spur him on to come and make trouble? I won’t stand for that.”

No, they only had this one shot at a wedding before Jing Yi would have to give up his soul in another two weeks. And even that was stolen time so they couldn’t be sure that it would even be two weeks. He wouldn’t allow anything to go wrong at the last moment. No, this wedding, he would give it to Jing Yi. After all, it was the one thing he had asked of him.

He left the room while Jing Yi was still worried and went to find Xiang Yu who was crouching in front of the shell of Jinde’s and Leng Jin Yu’s child, poking it every now and then.

Qiu Ling crouched down next to him and also looked at the shell. “It’s beautiful. The child will be even more so. You can call that my family’s good luck.”

Xiang Yu looked up and blinked his eyes, staring at Qiu Ling’s profile before he nodded. Yes, whether it was Qiu Ling, Jinde, or Leng Jin Yu, they were all good-looking. “Is the wedding ceremony about to start?”

Qiu Ling turned to him and gave him a brilliant smile. “About that … Xiao Dong just went to get our robes for the ceremony and stumbled upon Jin Ling’s hideout in the city. Jin Ling also saw him so I’m afraid of what he’ll do. I don’t want him to ruin this day.”

Xiang Yu blinked his eyes again. He knew he wasn’t supposed to kill him but Qiu Ling was looking at him as if he wanted him to do something. He tried to figure it out on his own but couldn’t think of anything. In the end, he could only purse his lips. “Well, do you want me to help?”

Qiu Ling nodded. “You can probably create some array to keep him there for a few hours, can’t you? Doesn’t need to be anything complicated, just something to ensure he won’t get out of that guesthouse and come to disturb us while we hold the ceremony.”

Xiang Yu actually had no idea how to do something like this but he touched the mark between his brows and finally nodded. “There seems to be some kind of self-dissolving array. I guess I could use that.”

Qiu Ling gave a hum. “He won’t notice when you do this, will he?”

Xiang Yu pursed his lips further. “Probably not?” Anyway, people usually didn’t notice him until he spoke up or stood directly in front of them. It was as if he had turned invisible after becoming a fallen god. And then, everyone suddenly seemed shocked and frightened out of their minds even though he hadn’t done anything. It really wasn’t easy to live like this.

Qiu Ling beamed. “That’s perfect! You have to hurry though. After all, you can’t miss the ceremony for this.”

Xiang Yu who had just started to feel down because of how people usually treated him instantly cheered up. “I won’t!” Anyway, no matter what others did, there were at least some people who treated him well.

He got to his feet, used his mark of wisdom to find Jin Ling’s hideout, and then crossed over there through one of his gates. Naturally, he made sure to wear the veiled hat that Jinde had given him a few days ago. This way, people wouldn’t realize he was a fallen god and he could go about his matters without problems.

He didn’t actually see Jin Ling and he didn’t go to look for him either. He simply made sure that he was in there and then put an array around the whole building. Smiling to himself, he already wanted to turn back but then couldn’t help but hesitate. This was the first time he had made this kind of array. Who knew if it had worked well? If the effect didn’t last as long, Qiu Ling’s worries might still come true.

He pursed his lips and then went to put another array down right around Jin Ling’s room. Anyway, it was better to be safe than sorry. This way, even if the arrays weren’t good, together, they should keep him trapped for a while. Smiling to himself, he finally returned to attend the wedding ceremony.
