RMN C453 Back to Work!

Tong Chen noticed Chao Bing’s gaze but he didn’t say anything about it. Right now, there was too much going on, too many different things that they needed to pay attention to, and had to organize in quick succession. He wasn’t willing to put one more thing onto his plate if Mei Chao Bing didn’t come forward himself. Instead, he told the disciples what they had figured out about the dimension that might be the root of the abilities, as well as about Luo Lin and Yun Bei Fen’s ability in particular.

By the end of it, the room fell silent since nobody really knew what to say.

Tong Chen gave them a moment to digest everything before he spoke up again. “I know it is a lot to take in all at once but think of it this way: The more we figure out about this, the better we will be able to fight the other side in the future. I believe that your abilities are likely the key to doing that. Thus, even if it isn’t easy at first, simply trust that this is taking us a step further in the right direction.”

The others nodded but still didn’t say anything. Anyway, what exactly was there to say? For the time being, they could only try different things to figure out the answers to the questions they still had. And the problem was that while blue butterfly’s dreamscape was an essential part of that plan, she couldn’t leave the Jian Chu sect for too long. Thus, until the next night, they could only wait.

Blue butterfly also felt apologetic but there was nothing she could do about this. If the sects had been more open-minded, she would’ve stayed and helped these children right this instance but she knew that this was impossible. No, for now, she could only leave with Tong Chen and hope that nobody had noticed yet that they were gone.

“Well, think it through. Tomorrow night, I’ll come back here, and then we can start practicing with the two of you. Maybe we’ll be able to figure it out in no time.” She gave them an encouraging smile even though she was pretty sure that neither of them really felt it and then motioned toward Tong Chen to get ready.

The black warrior nodded and then sat down in the lotus position, clearing his mind to get into the right state to come along.

Mei Chao Bing glanced at him and then at blue butterfly and finally cleared his throat. “Senior, I also just left like that for a whole day. Yun Bei Fen’s second senior martial brother is still working on something that could prove to be helpful. Could I trouble you to send me back to the sect as well so that I can take a look at how far he has gotten?”

Yes, with everything else going on, he had actually forgotten for a while what Yan Hong Min had been working on. But that contraption of his might actually help them a lot when they were finally confronting the other side. Thus, he felt that it was about time to check up on him.

Blue butterfly shrugged her shoulders. “I wouldn’t mind but you do know that I have to go back to my own sect, right? So I can bring you there but I can’t bring you back right after. You’d have to wait until tonight.”

Mei Chao Bing inclined his head. “I know, I don’t mind.”

At that, Yun Bei Fen looked up at him, not quite understanding how Mei Chao Bing could say that. He had hoped that now that he was finally out of the dreamscape, the two of them could spend some more time with each other. Unfortunately, it seemed that this wasn’t true.

He pursed his lips but finally didn’t say anything and simply got up to hug Mei Chao Bing’s waist. “You have to come back soon!” If he could have, he would’ve stuck to him the whole time. But … he also realized that this was impossible. He might not be able to do much but he could at least wait patiently. “While you’re gone … I’ll train hard!”

Mei Chao Bing gave a hum and then leaned down, kissing his forehead. “I know it’s not easy for you. I’ll miss you too. When we have solved this whole situation in the border region, I’ll spend every single day with you. I promise.”

Yun Bei Fen nodded, cheering up a bit. Anyway, this was only for the time being. He also knew that. Why should he make a fuss? Reassuring himself like this, he finally let go of Mei Chao Bing and stepped back, retreating to his first senior martial brother’s side instead.

No matter what, it wasn’t like he would be alone here in the border region. Actually, Mei Chao Bing was much more pitiful considering that he needed to go alone. But then, his second senior martial brother was still there so maybe it wasn’t that bad either.

Mei Chao Bing smiled and then closed his eyes, sitting down in the lotus position as well to meditate and reach the right state.

Blue butterfly looked at everyone else to see if there were any more questions and then retreated into the dreamscape, waiting for the other two to finally get ready.

Zhi Guan looked at the dreamscape and then at the other three disciples, finally seeing for himself that they didn’t seem to be able to perceive it. He felt a bit strange about it but then, he didn’t think any further about it.

Even though he hadn’t expected it, some things were just like that. Everyone had their talents. And with two of his juniors having abilities, maybe him having this kind of skill was actually quite normal.

Come to think of it, if he told his Master, he was afraid of how he would react. After all, his Master had already seemed like it was way too much to take in that Luo Lin and Yun Bei Fen might actually have an ability. If he now found out that there was even more … well, Zhi Guan would rather not imagine but then, it wasn’t like he could keep this to himself.
