OMF V9C248 The Elders Would Be Shocked

Jing Yi noticed his gaze but didn’t think much of it. Anyway, since they had agreed, they shouldn’t waste any time. “Well, I interrupted you before. Since there was still something that you wanted to discuss, then Xiao Dong and I should leave you to it for now. We’ll just take a stroll through the sect. I haven’t been here in a while so I’d love to see how everything changed.”

Fei Bai Mu patted the table and got up. “Actually, we had just finished our business when you came in. But taking a stroll through the sect doesn’t sound bad. I really wonder what people will do if they recognize me as the Sect Master of the Jian Yi Sect. Especially those Elders’ faces would probably look really good.” She glanced at Shen An De and couldn’t help but smile. Usually, when she was in the Jian Yi Sect, she needed to be serious. To allow herself a moment like this … it also wasn’t bad.

Shen An De chuckled and then got up as well. “Well, if you want to stun them, how about making it even more astounding? Hong Ai and I will come along then.”

Fei Bai Mu raised her brows. This would shock not just the Elders but also the disciples of the Hei Dian Sect. The latter might not recognize her, but they would definitely recognize their Grandmaster and his wife. Their portrays had definitely been circulated several times throughout the years.

Well, if Shen An De didn’t mind, she definitely wouldn’t say no. Anyway, she indeed wanted Hua Lin Yu to see the mortal world. The more he saw, the more he would be able to strengthen himself. And if he did … maybe he could shake off the interference from his past life.

Her brows furrowed when she thought of that and she couldn’t help but glance at Jing Yi. Actually, she would love to have a few moments with him alone to ask about his experience. After all, her disciple’s didn’t seem to be much different. Maybe there was some kind of advice that he could give her.

Jing Yi was looking from one person to the other, waiting for them to come to an agreement and actually move so they wouldn’t have to stand around awkwardly. Seeing Fei Bai Mu’s gaze, he felt odd but just looked at her questioningly. Even though he had ascended and should be considered more powerful than the two of them, he sure didn’t feel that way so he didn’t dare to speak up too much.

Fei Bai Mu smiled and reached out, patting his shoulder. “Jing Yi, if you don’t mind, I’d like to know more about what is going on in the dragon realm if we have some time later on. So, when everyone else is busy, maybe we could sit down somewhere and have a chat. How about it?”

Jing Yi glanced toward Xiao Li and felt that the reason that she didn’t want him to say anything right now was probably because of him. Thinking of that, he naturally nodded. “No problem. Whatever Sect Master Fei wants to know, I will definitely tell you! Anyway, not too much has happened and I also can’t tell you most of the details but I can at least tell you a bit.”

Fei Bai Mu nodded, not thinking too much. Anyway, while she was indeed interested in what was going on in the dragon realm with their Jian Yi Sect’s Grandmaster and his spouse and also with the dragon king, that wasn’t what she actually wanted to know right now. But then she couldn’t say that for the moment and could only wait for an opportunity. At the very least, Jing Yi was willing to talk. That was the only thing that mattered for now.

Since everyone had agreed to go, they finally walked out of the room one after the other.

Shen An De put his arm around his wife’s waist, taking the lead, while Fei Bai Mu walked behind them. She felt like being too far away from them would make it seem as if she was stealthily trying to follow. Not that stealthily following was possible with Shen An De, but who knew what the Elders of the Hei Dian Sect but think? If she was directly behind them, it would be different though. Nobody would be too alarmed in that case.

As for the younger generation, Hua Lin Yu and Xiao Li followed behind Fei Bai Mu since Hua Lin Yu was her disciple after all while Jing Yi and Xiao Dong were bringing up the rear.

Xiao Dong couldn’t help but keep a wary eye on Xiao Li, feeling that something was odd about this person. Considering who he was currently with, he had to pay more attention!

Thus, the group of seven made their way through the Grandmaster’s palace and then outside, walking over to the edge of the cliff that was overlooking the chasm down below.

Shen An De took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled. “Ah, looking at the Hei Dian Sect like this … when I was younger, I did it a lot. Nowadays, I mostly stay inside the palace with Xiao Ai. It feels odd to think about.” He gave a huff and looked over his shoulder toward Jing Yi. “You know, this is probably how I notice the passage of time. One day, I started to think of things as something that was a long time ago. At that time, I really knew I had gotten old.”

Jing Yi could only shake his head at that. “I’m afraid it doesn’t work that way for me. When I think back to a long time, I’ll think of the time when I was in the Yun Zou Sect. By your standards, I would also be considered old.”

Shen An De gave a hum. “Well, I guess time moves differently for everyone. Not … objectively, maybe, but the feeling of it sure does. If you feel that it was a long time ago, maybe you’re older than you are in my eyes.

“Either way, what’s most important is that you used the time well. When I think back, I’m happy with where I am and every step I took led me here. That is something I’m grateful for.” He turned to the other side and leaned down, giving his wife a kiss.

For him, while he had always been satisfied with his cultivation, he had only found true peace with this relationship. So no matter what else happened, as long as he had that, he didn’t mind. Age … it didn’t mean much to him anymore. It was just something that happened to him but as long as his wife was at his side, what did it even matter?
