OCN C86 Is That You?

Currently, it was around lunchtime, and apparently, that was when all the events were scheduled for a break. Everyone had filed out into the common areas or even into the square outside, leaving the place to look like utter chaos. To find a person in here … it really wouldn’t be easy.

Si Yi furrowed his brows, not too happy about this. He wasn’t sure which person they were looking for but he couldn’t stand the thought that his master would have to run around needlessly. Thinking of that, he couldn’t help but turn back. “How about we go and be on the lookout? We will contact you when we find the person.”

Si Jin looked at Si Yi and then glanced at the other two before looking around. In the end, he nodded. “Everybody takes one direction. We are looking for Si San.” With that, he picked a direction for himself and started walking.

Si Yi felt like wringing his hands. Hadn’t he suggested that to make sure that his master wouldn’t need to run around? But it seemed that his master just thought of cutting down the time they would need to find Si San. Well, in any case, this was better than nothing.

He sighed and then turned to the others, giving Si Shi Er a pointed look. “Show your boyfriend a picture of him and then make yourself useful.” With that, he also went off in one direction, leaving the other two to Si Shi Er and his boyfriend.

Si Shi Er pursed his lips. Today had been supposed to be a day that he could spend with his boyfriend. It was a rare opportunity in a period when they were supposed to be busy for the clan. Now, they actually had to split up. And even in such a place with so many people.

Fu Jia was happy though. He tugged at his boyfriend’s sleeve, his eyes glittering. “What about the photo? I’m sure we’ll be able to find him!”

Si Shi Er turned to look at him, not quite sure what to do about this. “Are sure that this is alright? In any case, you’ve never seen him before. Would you even be able to recognize him with just a photo?”

Fu Jia nodded without hesitation. “Yes, incredibly sure! In any case, isn’t he, like, your boss?” He motioned in the direction that Si Jin had vanished in, happy that he was finally able to make sure of what he had thought the whole time.

Si Shi Er nodded. “Yes, but —”

“No buts! In any case, I want to help you. If we can find him, I’m sure he’ll be proud of you. We can say it was you who found him! I’ll text you first.” He tiptoed and kissed his boyfriend on the lips, smiling brightly.

With Fu Jia being so spirited, Si Shi Er didn’t have the heart to argue anymore. He took out his phone and then froze.

He … he really didn’t make it a habit to have a picture of all the other ninjas on there. “Ah, wait, I need to search for one first.” Then, he messaged Si Er, asking for some photos that he could show Fu Jia.

Over in the park, Si Er looked at the notification that once again jumped up on the screen, a little puzzled. What was it with people today who needed his help? He was already feeling like some information center.

Well, maybe he was the information center of the Si clan but, usually, that would be kept to a minimum. Now though, this was the second person in a short amount of time who had asked about Si San. It seemed that something big was going on over there. Maybe he would like to get in on that.

He clicked through his files, choosing some incriminating evidence, as well as some normal photos, and then send all of it over to Si Shi Er. In any case, he wasn’t quite sure what he needed it for so it was better to give him a bit of everything.

Then, he first looked up where his master was, and then also looked at Si Yi and Si Shi Er, as well as that affiliated person number 12-C, realizing that all of them had gone to where Si San already was. It seemed that there was really some kind of party going on there without him. Ah, this was a little mean, wasn’t it?

It seemed he would have to do something about that.

Meanwhile, when Si Shi Er opened the photos that he had been sent, his eyes bulged. He hastily lowered his phone, startling his boyfriend who had been patiently waiting next to him.

“What’s the matter?”

Si Shi Er’s gaze darted around and then he raised his phone again but tilted the screen away, not wanting him to see. “It’s nothing. Really, don’t worry about it. I just need some more time to find something suitable.”

Fu Jia wasn’t quite sure if he should believe this considering the way his boyfriend currently looked and he hastily grabbed his arm, leaning over to take a look. What he saw … he also wasn’t sure what to think of that. “Is that him?”

“No … Oh well, maybe. I asked a friend to send me a photo of him because I didn’t have one myself.”

Then, the two of them stared at a photo that could probably be counted as the ‘incriminating evidence’ that Si Er had chosen. It showed Si San in some kind of get-up that had clearly been meant as a party outfit for a weird costume party. And it was … well, it was rather strange.

Fu Jia tilted his head and tried to make sense of it: The guy in the picture was wearing what looked like a bodysuit with geometrical patterns. It was tight in some places, showing off a good physique, while it stood out in weird shapes in others as if the pattern had come alive. It didn’t help that he had a hat on his head that looked like a perched Silkie chicken ready to fly off. Oh, and he was holding some type of staff that reminded him of a shepherd’s staff, just that it was a lot fancier.

Before he could figure out what exactly this whole ensemble was supposed to represent, his boyfriend finally decided to just forget that he had ever seen this and swiped to the next one. Which … turned out to not be any better with the only difference that there were fewer clothes involved.

“What kind of photos does he have of him?” Suddenly, he was seriously starting to doubt Si Er’s sanity. This was a rather strange assortment of photos. Actually, did he only have photos like this of Si San or of the rest as well? In fact, should he be worried about the photos Si Er might send others of him? But then he couldn’t remember to have ever worn anything like this.

His boyfriend also felt that these photos were odd but after getting over the initial shock, he figured that he should just look at the guy’s face. And after a while, he figured that he was able to recognize him. But still, he’d rather make sure.

He patted his boyfriend’s arm and then took out his own phone. “You should send these to me! Then I can make sure that it’s really him when I find him.”

Si Shi Er figured that it might indeed be best if his boyfriend had something to compare so he sent them over without a second thought. “Alright, we’d better hurry now. Maybe you won’t be the one to find him but if you do, we shouldn’t let my … boss wait for too long.” He had almost blurted out ‘master’ but he caught himself at the right time.

Contrary to Si Yi who was officially said to work for Si Jin, the others would usually pretend that he was some kind of friend or business contact but that was only necessary on rare occasions. Thus, he had a harder time switching to the right address in front of his boyfriend who knew that they were part of the same organization.

Ah, he really wanted to tell him the whole thing already! But today definitely wasn’t the right time for that. In any case, they had everything they needed so they split up and both walked off in the two remaining directions.

By now, the lunch break was also coming to an end and people were moving in the direction where they would need to be for their next event. There were still some groups standing around though so they had some more time until the events would start.

The four of them looked around, unobtrusively scanning the crowd in the case of the ninjas and rudely staring at strangers in the case of Fu Jia. Thankfully, with the latter’s young looks, nobody had the heart to scold him, and there were even some older people who would walk over and ask him whether he had gotten lost.

When an older gentleman approached him, Fu Jia blinked his eyes at him and figured that maybe he had an advantage. He smiled brightly and then nodded with fervor. “Yes, I followed my older brother here but I can’t find him anymore. Maybe you’ve seen him? Here, this is a photo of him!” And with that, he pulled out his phone and opened the first one of the pictures he had just been sent. Thankfully, the order was different so this one was actually a rather normal one that showed Si San in front of an airplane in a pilot’s uniform.

The old gentleman looked at it, a little surprised to see this kind of get-up but then focused on the face. “That’s your brother?”

Fu Jia glanced at the photo and realized that they looked nothing alike. “Oh, well, he’s adopted.” It definitely wasn’t him!

“Ah.” The old man nodded and then focused on the face again. “Yes, I feel like I’ve seen him before. Wasn’t he … I think I saw him at a talk I was at earlier this day.”

Fu Jia blinked his eyes again, feeling that this didn’t help him much. If it had been earlier today, it could’ve been at any darn time. How was that supposed to help him with finding him now?

The old gentleman wasn’t done yet though. “I feel like I overheard him talking about what he wanted to do later today. Right now …” He turned his arm, looking at the watch on his wrist, and then pondered the time for a moment before he motioned down a corridor. “You should go and look in the big hall over there. I think he should be over there right now.”

Fu Jia beamed at that. “Thank you very much, uncle! You’ve really been a great help. I really wouldn’t know what to do without you.” He waved at him with a bright smile and then rushed off before the old man could say anything.

In any case, if you looked young enough, you could get away with a lot of things. Even though it could be really annoying at times as well, especially when he was out with his boyfriend, but it sure had its advantages in this kind of situation.

After a minute, he had already made it to the hall. Looking around, he finally spotted a man on the other side and his eyes lit up. It seemed he had really found him! Although, it was still difficult to tell in these clothes.

He figured that he had probably gotten it right but it was still best to make sure. Thus, he rushed over and then pushed the phone into his face. “Brother, is that you?”

Si San recoiled and then stared at the photo on the screen. Fu Jia had accidentally swiped across it while running over so there was once again the one from the costume party being shown.

Si San furrowed his brows and tilted his head, a little surprised. “Do I know you?” Because honestly, he didn’t think that anybody should have a photo of him like this.

And that youth in front of him looked like he was still going to school. Even if somebody had a photo of him, he didn’t want it to be this kind of boy. Otherwise, who knew whose family he would get into trouble with? He could never let that kind of thing happen.

Fu Jia blinked his eyes, surprised at his reaction. “It’s not?” With that, he pulled the phone back, looking at the screen and then up at Si San before looking back down again and furrowing his brows even further. But it did look like him, ah!

The group of women that had been standing around Si San couldn’t help but lean in, taking a glance at the photo as well. Seeing it, their expressions derailed and the gazes they used to look at Si San changed. This … It seemed a little too strange, didn’t it?

Si San’s brows twitched and he finally grabbed the little jokester in front of him, pulling him further away. “Alright, I have no idea who you are. So where did you get that photo and what do you want from me?”

Fu Jia blinked his eyes but then held up a hand. “Wait! I first have to call my boyfriend.”

Si San stared at him, feeling like this person was an enigma. Before he could ask anything else though, Fu Jia had really clicked on a number that was very aptly titled ‘sweetheart’ and then already chatted away.

“Ah Ling, I found him! You don’t have to worry anymore. You can come over now.”

Si San continued to stare at him, completely bewildered. Did he have some kind of beef with this guy’s boyfriend? Was that why this kind of cute boy had been sent upfront to check things out? And now some burly guy would come out and try to beat him up? Well, he’d really like to see one try!

Then, Fu Jia suddenly turned back around to him, lowering his phone. “Say, which hall is this?”

Si San raised his hands, feeling that this was getting stranger and stranger. “What are you asking me for?”

“So you don’t know. It’s alright, I’ll ask somebody else.” With that, he rushed back over to the women and asked them.

They immediately told him with a sideways glance at Si San, also feeling that the situation was quite odd but in their eyes, the oddity was Si San instead of this cute little youth.

Si San sighed deeply and then just waited. In any case, he’d see who this guy’s boyfriend was, and then he would teach that guy a lesson for bothering him here.

Before this, things had been going really, really well. With just a bit more time, he might’ve been able to get himself a girlfriend as well. Now though, it seemed that his high hopes for this day had been completely destroyed. Ah, really, what a pity.
