Jing Yi nodded but didn’t say more than that. Anyway, a lot had happened and it hadn’t always been so sure that they really would have this wedding. But then, Hong Bao didn’t necessarily need to know that.
Not to mention that there was still a bit to do and if he really wanted to have a talk with Wu Ya, then he should not linger here any longer. Otherwise, he was pretty sure that he would be roped into setting up Hong Bao’s Master with some man. Knowing her, Hong Bao might even have her eye on somebody already and was simply on the outlook for the right helper for her great cause.
Thinking of that, Jing Yi cleared his throat to pull the attention back to the actual reason they had come. “Well, I’m also looking forward to it. For now though, there will first be the gathering I told you about. I’m really happy that you’re willing to come. This means a lot to me. Even though we didn’t have much time to get to know each other, the time in the Hei Dian Sect was very important to our relationship so you could say that you had a big influence. But then, I don’t need to tell you. You know that yourself.
“Anyway, there are still quite a few things to prepare. For example, we don’t have a specific place for the gathering in mind yet so we’ll need to go to the Long kingdom’s capital city to take a look around. We will send you a message as soon as we figure out exactly where we will be meeting. Because of this, Qiu Ling and I will have to leave ahead of time though, and can’t stay here much longer.”
Hong Bao nodded but pursed her lips, clearly having some thoughts on what he had said. “Actually, I don’t have anything super important to do these days so I could come and help you out!” When it came to preparing any kind of event, she felt that she really had a knack for it. Whether it was a wedding or a gathering, she would certainly do a great job! Jing Yi and Qiu Ling could only profit if she came along.
Qiu Ling gave a hum and turned to look at his lover, hoping that he would say no. Not to mention that his thoughts on Hong Bao were a little complicated even on the best of days, he had also hoped that the two of them would be able to spend more time together with just the two of them considering that there wasn’t much left. If she tagged along … he really doubted that that would be such a good idea. Others could still be ignored but Hong Bao had the bad quality of making her presence known at all times.
Jing Yi could imagine what Qiu Ling was thinking but didn’t acknowledge that part. He didn’t invite her along either though. “Well, I’m honored that you’re offering but I think we can manage on our own.
“Also, even if you have nothing to do, I am sure you can find something better than tagging along while we simply survey a place. Speaking of which … we went to the Hei Dian Sect before this. You haven’t seen your sister and your brother-in-law for a while, have you? The two of them are also invited.
“You could go over to catch up with them and then next week, you could come together all three of you. That way, we will only have to send one note and you should have an easier time finding the place. In fact, other than the two of them, there are another two disciples from the sect that are invited. Everyone could just go as one big group. It would be such a pity if somebody got lost.”
Hong Bao pondered but felt that this was indeed true. Not even mentioning the logistical aspect that Jing Yi had just mentioned, actually, she had missed her sister quite a bit. “Well, that would naturally be nice but … are you sure you’ll be alright? There should be a lot to do.”
To be honest, there really wasn’t much to do other than strolling around and casually finding a place that had enough room for all the people they had invited. Jing Yi didn’t think that he should tell her this though. After all, he had just said that there was more to do and also … this was a pretty good opportunity.
He glanced at Wu Ya and cleared his throat. “Well, we could take Wu Ya along. Anyway, he and Qiu Ling are familiar but haven’t seen each other in a while so it would be nice if the two of them could use the time to catch up as well.”
Hong Bao turned to look at Wu Ya and seemed to ponder for a moment but finally nodded her head. “Well, I guess you could do that.”
Wu Ya nodded wildly. Naturally, he would do it! Don’t mention being able to spend some more time with his good friend’s son, he was also more than happy to do something that Hong Bao wanted him to do. Maybe this could convince her that he was the right man for her. So far, even though he had tried to show her precisely this, there hadn’t been much progress.
Hong Bao’s thoughts weren’t going in that direction at all for once but she was still happy that he agreed. “Well, then it’s decided! Alright, since you’re in a hurry, I will accompany you to the gates and then we can part ways there.”
Jing Yi nodded and the four of them got up, walking out of the building and leaving the Ye Zhong Order again. Reaching the gate, the four of them indeed split up, Hong Bao rushing to the Hei Dian Sect while Wu Ya accompanied Jing Yi and Qiu Ling to the capital city of the Long kingdom.
