RMN C70 So Mad!

Yun Bei Fen looked at Yang Wu Huang with a mixture of anger and disappointment. He hadn’t understood previously when Mei Chao Bing said that this guy wasn’t a good person and that he should stay away from him but he understood very well now. “You!” He finally pointed at Yang Wu Huang’s nose but he barely got out this one word.

Yang Wu Huang’s heart shook when he saw Yun Bei Fen like this. Ah, even though he wanted to get rid of Mei Chao Bing, he didn’t want to have to hurt this person either. He gulped and looked at him with pity. “I’m sorry, junior martial brother Yun. I didn’t want to say it out loud in front of everyone. But your Master insisted and —”

“You shut up!” Yun Bei Fen’s voice still shook and his little face turned red from anger. “I wouldn’t have thought that you were that kind of person! You would actually slander senior martial brother Mei like that and even after I asked you to help him out when the others were bullying him.” Continue reading

RMN C69 No Morality to Speak of

Yang Wu Huang gave a strained smile. There was no way for him to get out of this now and pretend that everything had just been a misunderstanding. He would have to explain himself and bring up those rumors.

Well, he himself hadn’t talked about this with anybody but his own people so nobody should be able to find out that they had originated from him. Anyway, as long as he was able to make the Elder believe that Mei Chao Bing had indeed hurt his disciple and that Yun Bei Fen had just been tricked into thinking it was wasn’t anything bad, then he might not investigate his involvement anyway. It couldn’t hurt to make sure that it seemed like all of this was just coincidental though. Continue reading

RMN C68 Too Devious!

The gazes that fell on Mei Chao Bing weren’t nice at all. Yun Bei Fen could only blink his eyes in confusion and look up at him. He wanted to ask what Yang Wu Huang meant but he didn’t know what to say. It seemed that neither did he understand this person nor did this person understand him.

Mei Chao Bing smiled coldly. “Yang Wu Huang, are you insinuating that I did something to Yun Bei Fen?”

Yang Wu Huang gave a cold smile in return. “What you did or didn’t do, you certainly know yourself.” Naturally, he wouldn’t say anything that could get him into trouble later. No, he had to tread carefully. The things he previously said, he would be able to explain them with merely hearing those rumors. Nobody could say that he had targeted Mei Chao Bing or had spread those rumors himself. But if he really said that it was Mei Chao Bing, then things might look different. Continue reading

RMN C67 Was I Tricked?

Yun Bei Fen still looked at Yang Wu Huang in a daze. How come he didn’t understand a single word this person said? In his helplessness, he turned to Mei Chao Bing again, posing the question that was the most important to him right now. “Was I tricked?”

Mei Chao Bing gave a smile and then reached out, nudging his nose. “Do you feel like you were tricked?”

Yun Bei Fen tried to look down at the tip of his nose and then looked back up, pondering the question. Tricked … He shook his head. “No. No, I don’t think so.”

Mei Chao Bing smile brightened. “Then I guess you weren’t.” Continue reading

RMN C66 You Don’t Need to Pretend

Yang Wu Huang glanced at the disciples walking with him and signaled them to move forward. They couldn’t be too direct in their attack but they still had to make sure that the others would be able to perceive their intent clearly. Yang Wu Huang led those disciples onto the square and stopped once again, his gaze resting on Yun Bei Fen.

Mei Chao Bing’s eyes narrowed in response. This guy … It seemed he wasn’t willing to let things go after he had already prepared. Well, that was alright with him. In fact, it would have been a pity if Yang Wu Huang didn’t try to do anything. If he could use this opportunity that his so-called opponent had to kindly presented to him to make the other disciples less vigilant against him so that Yun Bei Fen could find some peace of mind, then that would naturally be very good.

Even though he didn’t mind being shunned if it was just about himself, he didn’t want Yun Bei Fen to suffer because of that. So if at least some of that hate could be dissolved, then that would be very good. He didn’t expect to suddenly become a respected senior in the eyes of anybody but at the very least, it would be good if he didn’t stay the disciple of a traitor forever. If he was just that unfortunate person that had happened to know Elder Feng or maybe some random disciple, then that would be very good.

RMN C65 This Didn’t Make Sense

Mei Chao Bing and Yun Bei Fen finally left the house to go to the plain where the disciples would gather in the morning before setting out in their groups over the course of the day. Yun Bei Fen let Xiao Hui hobble after them while Mei Chao Bing had put Da Hei back into the chest.

His image already wasn’t very good so if he just strolled over with a midnight wolf, things might get troublesome. After all, this beast didn’t look like the type of stuffed animal that Yun Bei Fen had gotten. Furthermore, if the Elder or even Yang Wu Huang took a closer look, they would certainly notice that this beast had already managed to advance to the nascent soul stage. Then he’d have a lot to explain. Even more than he already had to explain now. After all, he was supposedly still in the core formation stage. How would he have been able to get a spiritual beast of a higher level without getting injured? That was almost impossible. Continue reading

RMN C64 You Said Nothing about That

Yun Bei Fen had no idea where he had gone wrong but the instincts from his early days in the sect kicked in when he saw Baili Chao’s livid face. He grabbed Mei Chao Bing’s arm and tried to drag him to the door.

Mei Chao Bing smiled and slowly got up, putting an arm around Yun Bei Fen’s waist and giving him a reassuring smile. “What are you running for? They won’t set out without us, will they? Besides, it’s not that late yet.”

Elder Baili was fuming even more when he heard that. That brat! He actually dared to question his words right in front of him?! Unfortunately, there was no way for him to refute his words. It was indeed too early for the disciples to set out and since the two of them had arrived in such a high-profile way, the others would certainly notice if they were missing and send somebody to look for them. They wouldn’t leave without Yun Bei Fen and Mei Chao Bing. Thus he could only keep quiet and watch the two of them leave the room. Continue reading

RMN C63 A Busy Person

Despite Elder Baili’s fierce attitude when talking, Mei Chao Bing was able to talk quite harmoniously with him when discussing his plan. The Elder listened quietly and nodded his head every now and then, finally agreeing to let matters proceed this way.

Mei Chao Bing couldn’t help but wonder if it could really be this easy. Didn’t the Elder have anything to add? He waited but nothing happened. Apparently, the Elder was indeed alright with this.

Mei Chao Bing heaved a sigh of relief. Even though he had expected more trouble in convincing the Elder, he was also happy that it hadn’t come to that. Right now, they had to act swiftly. Otherwise, if the rumors spread even further, then things would get troublesome. After all, as soon as everybody had heard the original rumor, them giving another account of the story would just seem like trying to cover things up. Continue reading

RMN C62 I’ll Keep an Eye on You

Mei Chao Bing got up early and took a look at his little bunny that was still sleeping soundly in his arms. Good. Whatever was going on outside, it didn’t disturb him at all. If they could, he’d like to stay inside for a while longer to make sure Yun Bei Fen wouldn’t have to find out about those rumors.

Unfortunately, they would have to head out for the mission today now that they had arrived in the border region. He could explain to people why they needed longer to get here but he wouldn’t be able to stall for any more time. So Yun Bei Fen would find out soon that something was off. He should start sorting out those rumors immediately. Continue reading

RMN C61 A Nasty Rumor

Mei Chao Bing stopped in his tracks and turned back. Elder Baili’s youngest disciple? Wasn’t that Yun Bei Fen? So were they talking about him? It should be. Don’t tell him Yang Wu Huang had actually made Yun Bei Fen part of these rumors too? He wouldn’t have expected that! He knew that guy wasn’t a good person but he had thought he would only try to get back at him for whatever grudge he was holding. Who would have thought he’d actually try and harm Yun Bei Fen?

Mei Chao Bing clenched his fists. If Yang Wu Huang had really dared to do that, then he’d need to deal with this after all. They could slander him all they wanted but he wouldn’t accept for Yun Bei Fen to bear the same treatment! His little bunny didn’t deserve that. He deserved to be treated with care. He shouldn’t have to see the ugly side of this world. Continue reading
