OMF V11C416 He’ll Come Around

While General Min Jun was still caught in the conundrum of what to do going forward, the others had long since arrived outside. Xiang Yong first went to find Fu Min to hear how he had solved the previous issue.

The other dragon beamed as soon as the question was uttered. “Oh, that was no problem at all! As soon as you guys were gone, someone came over to ask what had happened. Guess what I did?”

Xiang Yong looked at Fu Min’s expression which clearly spelled out how pleased he was with himself and suppressed a sigh. He really wasn’t in the mood for guessing games. He still did him the favor to at least ask though. “What did you do?”

Fu Min’s expression brightened even further. “I gave a really long sigh and then said ‘Ah, you also know how General Min Jun is when it concerns the demons …’ with the most world-weary feeling I could act out. When they looked at me all confused, I gave a short pause for impact and then told them how the demon king and two of his … assistants were invited to the celebration over in the Nine Heavens.”

He hadn’t said that this was what General Min Jun was angry about but with the ‘change’ in topic being that subtle, he knew that everyone would understand it that way. “Everyone was surprised so I told them about how he had found His Highness so since the celebration was also for his return, he had to be invited. They were all very understanding.”

Xiang Yong nodded. That was a good way to deal with it for now. Of course, it could only be used for the time being. As soon as the wedding was done and His Majesty had the mind to care about other things again that weren’t related to his husband, they ought to make a long-term plan. After all, it was clear that their king wasn’t willing to live a lie any longer. No, now that he was married to the one he loved, it seemed that he was ready to be completely true to himself. As his advisers, they had to support him in doing so. Anyway, it would also benefit the realm in Xiang Yong’s opinion.

With how the relationship between the three immortal races was — two of them constantly being at war while the others were allied but distant — there weren’t too many half-bloods in the dragon realm. Despite that, their number wasn’t insignificant either and just like among the dragons, there were people with varying skills among them. A realm that simply ignored those people based on their blood was doing itself a disservice. It was much better to improve their situation and let them thrive alongside the rest of their race. Wouldn’t everyone benefit from that the most? Thus, he was happy with his king’s recent endeavors.

While exposing their king’s heritage would first cause some issues, he was certain that they could deal with those as long as they made a plan ahead of time. Then, with the king’s identity as a half-blood and the merits he had brought to the realm as a reference, including the other half-bloods more would be much easier welcomed by the full-blooded dragons.

Making the appropriate plans for the future would still be a lot of work but the advisers were all on the same page and apart from General Min Jun, the other generals seemed to be the same. Starting to convince the people bit by bit in such a way was a good direction to take. The specifics, they’d have to discuss after the wedding. He did have a few ideas though.

Xiang Yong watched the proceedings in the middle of the square and seeing that everything had indeed calmed down for now, he motioned over to An Bai. “I’ll go and see how things are on An Bai’s side. Fu Heng should also be back soon. He can tell you the details of the discussion just now.”

“Sure!” Fu Min wasn’t in a hurry. Even though he did want to know everything that had happened, he knew that there were more important things right now so he was willing to wait. Anyway, hearing it from his own husband was still better.

Xiang Yong didn’t wait either and made his way over, inquiring how things were going. While the half-bloods were usually ignored half of the time, there were also some people who were less well-behaved. He doubted they’d dare to do something on their king’s wedding day but you could never know. It was better to make sure of that, especially after what had happened earlier.

An Bai smiled faintly and glanced at the half-bloods who were gathered around him and watching over the two people sitting at the table in the middle of the square with fervor. “It’s alright. Nobody came to bother us. How are things on the generals’ side?”

The half-bloods also turned to look at him when they heard this. While they had been too far away to hear everything that was happening over there, they could think of it even if they used their little toe to ponder. Obviously, someone was unhappy with their king’s exposed heritage. Naturally, they wanted to know if there was any danger.

Xiang Yong noticed their gazes but only felt gratified inside. Their king wasn’t doing this for nothing. No matter how everyone else would react in the future, at least these people would follow him just as everyone else had before. And, well, things didn’t seem so bad so far, did they?

He gave An Bai and the half-bloods a faint smile. “Things are alright. General Min Jun is still somewhat torn but the others have accepted everything after a short discussion. I suppose they simply had questions.”

An Bai nodded. He wasn’t that familiar with Min Jun but he knew that this person had been appointed by their king personally back in the day and he trusted in Qiu Ling’s vision. “General Min Jun will also come around. His Majesty has always trusted him. Surely, that trust wasn’t misplaced.”

Xiang Yong nodded and then, both of them turned back to watch the proceedings of the celebration.
