OMF V11C404 Work To Be Done

For a moment, the whole group fell silent. The three advisers were naturally aware of who he was and had been for some time now so even though it still felt odd speaking to him even for them, at least they weren’t too stunned to say anything.

The generals though … well, they had seen this person take off his veil earlier and they also had good enough hearing to know how their king had addressed him. It stood to reason that they shouldn’t have any doubts about his identity, especially with that highly recognizable appearance. Still, being confronted with such a fact was as shocking as the revelation that their own king had mixed blood. In fact … at least some of them felt that it was even more so. What was some demon blood in someone’s veins? This person had come back from the dead!

Min Jun also stared at Jinde, unsure how to respond. He indeed had trouble trusting the advisers. This person … well, he had no idea where to even begin expressing his feelings.

Well, Jinde didn’t care about his opinion either. He simply turned back and lightly waved. “Follow along then. Don’t bother the lovebirds and their guests.”

Leng Jin Yu glanced at the stunned expressions of the generals and then simply followed his husband. Anyway, his identity was out in the open now which was really a relief. Even though there were likely to be more situations like the poignant silence just now, overall, things would be easier going forward. Well, at least they wouldn’t have to hide anymore. Jinde’s identity would likely always cause certain reactions but that was something they could get used to.

The three advisers naturally wanted to follow as well but that would be useless if General Min Jun wasn’t with them. Thus, they could only motion at the palace again, hoping that he would take the hint and leave the square so the celebration could continue as intended.

Jia Su glanced at the back with that golden hair cascading down, then at the three advisers around them, and finally patted Min Jun’s shoulder again. “Don’t you want answers?”

Min Jun pursed his lips but finally followed the couple in front. He didn’t know what or who to believe any longer. A person who had long since been considered dead suddenly stood in front of them, their king who had always fought the demons was one of them … it made him wonder what he would hear next.

But yes, the distrust he now felt aside, he indeed wanted answers. How and why and who had even known about this and why had it been exposed now? He didn’t get any of it and he couldn’t begin to imagine it. If he could find at least a few answers, he could find a way to deal with this. He had to.

The other generals heaved a sigh of relief and quickly followed. They also wanted to know more but they especially didn’t want an already volatile situation to escalate in front of everyone. That might just force their hand to make a decision they weren’t actually ready to make. Plus, what about the panic this might cause? There was a way to do such things and this wasn’t that.

Seeing that there was finally movement, Xiang Yong heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed that their king’s wedding day wouldn’t be ruined after all. Well, of course, this episode still needed to be dealt with. “Fu Min, you stay here and deal with the people close by.”

Fu Min immediately nodded. Even though he would have liked to go and watch, he also understood that this was more important now. Thankfully, that idiot Min Jun hadn’t said anything too specific. He could just allude to a few things and everyone would make up a convenient story for themselves. This was hardly worth breaking a sweat.

Before leaving, he grabbed his husband’s sleeve and pulled him closer, kissing him on the cheek. “I want the full story later! You’re not allowed to leave out any details!”

Fu Heng nodded. Anyway, if he tried to leave out anything, Fu Min would just grill him about it until he had gotten the full account so it was better to comply right away.

Fu Min beamed and then happily shooed him away. Anyway, he couldn’t directly go over to those people or it’d seem too obvious that he was just trying to explain something away. No, no, he’d make it seem all natural!

Fu Heng gave his husband a last glance but then turned away and followed the generals inside with Xiang Yong. Anyway, Fu Min was recently on his best behavior when it concerned the tasks assigned to him. He was probably still trying to make up for not sniffing out the news about their king before An Bai and Xiang Yong and wanted to prove that he still had what it took. He’d definitely make doubly sure that he found the perfect solution for this.

Rather than worrying about Fu Min, he should better worry about how the upcoming talk would go. After all, he knew Min Jun and that guy could be stubborn, especially so when the demons were concerned. He could get it, to a degree. After all, his family had also dearly paid in that war and he still remembered how Fu Min had almost lost his life. But then, the end of that war was thanks to their king so no matter what type of blood he had, he would never doubt him.

He just didn’t know if Min Jun could come to the same realization or if he would continue being bothered by this knowledge of their king’s heritage. Right now, anything seemed possible. Of course, the previous king getting involved might help so he should just hope for the best and do whatever he could to convince him. After all, it would be a pity to lose him. Apart from being as stubborn as an ox, he was a great general and their dragon realm would truly lose out if he turned his back on it.
