RMN C737 Too Dangerous To Not Help

Yan Hong Min seldom went out on missions and even though he had heard more about the recent situation in the border region than many others, his actual understanding of what those things meant was low. Sure, there would be a fierce battle but he couldn’t imagine how that would look or how high the losses would likely be.

Because of that, he didn’t think more when he heard those words and simply nodded, thinking that he definitely wouldn’t have to leave the sect and would just wait for them to bring their little junior back. At most, he’d use the time to find someone who was skilled in refinement and medicine to help wake their little junior up. Yes, that seemed like the best thing to do.

It was only after Luo Lin and Shen Lei had long since left that he recalled their solemn expressions and suddenly realized why they had told him what to do in case they hadn’t returned in a week.

He stared at the materials he was tinkering with blankly and slowly raised his head, looking at the doorway that his third junior martial brother and his lover had come in through. “Ow.” He really didn’t like what this might mean.

Even though his relationship with Luo Lin could be described as the worst between the four of them, he still felt a faint sense of being responsible for him. After all, he was the senior martial brother here! Even though he had lost face a thousand times over thanks to those men always swarming around him, this fact couldn’t be changed. So when he saw Luo Lin distraught over the fact that Shen Lei might be dead, he still helped without a second thought. In the same vein, he would always help their first senior martial brother or their little junior. He’d even help that Mei Chao Bing since their little junior admired him so much!

Now … all of these people were in danger.

Yan Hong Min lowered his head and put down the materials, suddenly unable to think about his work. He had done what he could to help. He knew that. But would it be enough? Would everyone’s levels be high enough and their skills solid enough?

He knew how scary the world out there could be. The few times he had ventured out, he had seen a little and it was for a good reason that he usually stayed put in the sect afterward and simply asked Zhi Guan to bring something back for him.

This battle now … would it be even worse than that? What would his senior and juniors face? Also, what about their Master and the other disciples of the sect? Was there really nothing else he could have done to help?

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, calming himself down. Panicking wouldn’t help. If he wanted to do anything, he could only think this through. Anyway, Luo Lin and his lover had just left. This had to mean that there was still time. Maybe he could organize something.

He thought for a moment longer and then got to his feet and rushed out. Anyway, what did he know about the situation out there? It was better to go and speak to someone who was more aware of these things. Also, he needed someone who could make decisions. Otherwise, even the best thinking wouldn’t help at all.

With this being the conclusion he came to, Yan Hong Min directly rushed to the Sect Master’s palace. He also barged straight in, not bothering to have anyone announce him. Anyway, this was serious business!

At this moment, Zhang Guan Yu was sitting in his study, staring at his hands. With the black warrior being able to perceive the future, techniques to deduce the works of fate had become quite popular for a while after the emergence of the four guardians. He himself had also studied this a bit and from time to time, he would try to figure things out by himself before he went to bother the person in the back of the sect grounds. This time, just when he thought he had stumbled upon something, the door was thrown open with force and he was startled out of his calculations.

Zhang Guan Yu sighed deeply and hung his head. Oh, his skills were growing but his luck was simply bad. It really was a pity. All he wanted to know was whether his Teng Yong Sect could survive or not. These days, he was as anxious as an ant on the stove. Why wasn’t he allowed even a little bit of insight?

Raising his head, he found Yan Hong Min sitting in front of him. His lips twitched but he didn’t get angry at him. Anyway, he had helped a lot before. Plus … he was related to Yun Bei Fen who was very much related to Mei Chao Bing who was definitely the one person who would decide the fate of their sects o … he ought to be a bit more patient with him. “Disciple Yan, what’s the matter?”

Yan Hong Min pursed his lips. He hadn’t really managed to come up with the right words on the way here so he could only say what came to mind now. “I just heard from my third junior martial brother that things are looking dire in the border region. Shouldn’t we do something?”

Zhang Guan Yu raised his brows. “You heard from him?” Was there some new invention he didn’t know about yet? Because the last time, the paper duck was introduced to him which … well, was surprising but also had its limits. It sure couldn’t help them communicate from here to the border region directly.

Yan Hong Min didn’t know about Luo Lin’s ability and just figured he had taken a trip so he didn’t think more about it. He didn’t care about the Sect Master’s question either and just continued his own line of thought. “Yes. Weren’t you told? Oh, then let me tell you what I know first!” With that, he jumped straight into repeating what Luo Lin and Shen Lei had told him about the situation in the underground palace and their plan.
