OMF V11C380 Endless Possibilities

If there was one thing Leng Jin Yu missed from his past life, it was the ability to freely change his form and rush through the sky. As an ascended deity, while he could fly, the form of a dragon was forever unattainable. He had made his peace with that and it was only moments like these when he felt a little wistful.

Still, glancing at the people behind, he inclined his head. Anyway, whether he wanted to or not, it was best to show that to them, there was nothing out of the ordinary to see there. Only that way could they slightly influence what everyone might think.

Jinde didn’t need to be told twice. With a hum, he changed his form, the golden scales glittering in the sun. He had also been without his dragon form for a long time so he somewhat understood Leng Jin Yu’s dilemma. He couldn’t change it though. Even though his skills in refinement were high and he could even help Xin Lan restore his appearance, he couldn’t give someone who had been born human this kind of skill. It was impossible. He could only change his own form and take his husband along.

Leng Jin Yu wasn’t shy about these things either. He didn’t need to be encouraged like Jing He and simply climbed on the back of the golden dragon, holding on tightly as he was taken into the air.

Qiu Ling’s advisers exchanged a glance and then followed at once, each changing forms before following their king and his family members. Anyway, none of them currently wanted to explain anything to the people behind. After all, this hadn’t been planned so no words had been prepared and even though Qiu Ling suddenly exposing his dragon form seemed like a rather straightforward choice, they didn’t want to make anything official before he hadn’t actually said the word.

The people behind were indeed in an uproar. Or, well, to be honest, all of them had fallen suspiciously silent, becoming shell-shocked as soon as they saw their king’s dragon form.

Who didn’t know what the signs of demonic blood in one’s veins looked like after changing forms? There were many demon tribes who had the ability to change forms, just that what those forms looked like depended on the specific tribe. Most had a high variation among members of their tribe and only a rough form could be made out at the core. Size, shape, color, pattern … all of these showed great differences from one person to the other.

For the dragons, things were different. One of the reasons they had stood out among the demon tribes was that their dragon form was a lot more uniform. Sure, there was a little bit of variation in size, just like their other forms could be taller or shorter but otherwise, things stayed the same. The shape of their bodies and faces, the number of claws on each paw, the distribution of color in comparison to their other form … each of these was the same for every dragon and to diverge from this norm usually meant that one’s blood was mixed.

When it came to the king of the dragon race, nobody had ever had even the slightest amount of doubt that he should be a pure-blooded dragon. Anything else would just be too odd. But now, they suddenly realized that, actually … they seemed to have never seen his dragon form before, despite the fact that he had been their king for several millennia.

The people who had been invited to the celebration in the Nine Heavens were those with more sway in the dragon realm. It wasn’t wrong to say that their opinion of this revelation would matter quite a lot in how everyone else approached this. Unfortunately, none of them really knew what to make of this. They simply stared blankly at the spot where their king had disappeared and then stared even more blankly when the person whose survival had only been ascertained today changed into the figure of that legendary golden dragon and vanished as well. Please excuse them, but this was simply too much to deal with in one day. They would need at least a few days to make up their minds about any of this.

While the generals and scholars were simply dumbfounded, the half-bloods who had remained in the Nine Heavens until now were boiling with excitement as soon as the shock wore off. To be honest, they had been wondering why their king was paying so much attention to them.

Many had thought it might be due to his relationship with a trueborn god and the knowledge that their child would be in the same situation they were facing now. But, frankly, that didn’t explain why he was so clear on their issues and the thoughts and feelings that came with it. And while this hadn’t been as obvious in the beginning, the last few weeks had shown more and more that he saw their struggles exactly for what they were, each part of it clear in his mind. Now, it suddenly made sense.

Their king truly understood. Not because he was observant but because he had gone through the same things they had. All of these were his personal experiences, even if he had never told them so. Not to mention … despite having mixed blood himself, he had actually become king of the dragon race and had led their people successfully for millennia, with no one ever saying he had done a bad job. No, this person was respected throughout the realm and held in high regard even in the Nine Heavens. Today, he had even married the crown prince of the gods! If he could do this despite his heritage … what was there that they couldn’t do? Suddenly, the sky seemed so much wider than it ever had in the past.
