OMF V11C369 To Work On Their Relationship

Looking at the two people who were at the height of their positive feelings for each other and might be unable to come up with even one negative thing about the other person, he could only sigh. “Just having gotten married, I am sure that you don’t want to think of any difficulties that may lie ahead but I believe that it pays to be prepared.

“To keep a relationship healthy long-term, it requires work and that work is done the easiest when you are in a good spot and have the time and mood to discuss everything to the last detail and try to understand the perspective of your loved one.

“This box … it contains a few items that I believe will make you recall moments in the past that were special to you. I hope that you will take the time to go through them one at a time, not just to remember but also to gain a deeper understanding of each other so that your relationship can grow and go further.”

Thanks to his friendship with Qiang Yan, he actually knew about quite a few of the bigger episodes in their relationship so gathering these things hadn’t been that difficult for him. Also, they could always add to it if they felt like it. If it truly was effective in making them grow together, then he’d consider this to be a successful gift.

Jing He carefully held the box and nodded. “Thank you very much, God of Justice. We will look at the contents closely in the future and follow your advice.” Even though he didn’t feel that Qiu Ling had much work to do, it was a different matter if he thought of himself. There were surely many areas where he was lacking and he indeed wanted to take the time after arriving in the dragon realm to slowly work on them. Only that way could he be a good husband to Qiu Ling.

His husband also took the matter seriously. “Yes, thank you very much for saying this. A relationship is indeed something one should work on.” In the past, maybe he would have thought differently but obviously, his love alone hadn’t been enough to get them to where they were now. With that lesson learned, the words of the God of Justice only served as a reminder but it was a good one.

Anyway, he himself had thought that they should take time in the future to help Jing He deal with his past. There was still all that guilt about disappointing his father, the fear of the future that may come, the anxiety about not being good enough … Jing He wasn’t doing as well as he should. If left alone, who knew if things would ever change? No, only by putting enough time and effort into supporting him through this could he be sure that Jing He would surely but slowly make progress.

Thinking of those plans, this gift was actually great. He could use it as a starting point after they had settled in over in the dragon realm. When he felt that Jing He was ready, he could pull this out, pick whatever he saw first, and then slowly talk things through.

Sooner or later, something would change, he was sure of that. Even if talking about it alone couldn’t do that, his own behavior should reassure Jing He enough that he would be able to let go of his worries bit by bit. Then, he could confront the things from the past.

Li Yin nodded and bid his farewell. Whether these two actually followed through on what they had said or not … he couldn’t say and it wasn’t his business anyway. If he could help with something in the future, he naturally would, but apart from that, everyone would live their own life.

He returned to his table where Qiang Yan was waiting, and took a seat, grabbing the teapot to pour himself a cup.

Qiang Yan turned to look at him and couldn’t help but smile. “Spoken as if you weren’t as much of an old bachelor as I am. Although I have to admit that it’s good advice.”

Li Yin paused with the cup in his hand, his heart squeezing in pain. “Yes.” Yes, to others, this was how it looked when in actual fact, he had learned this the hard way because he and Leng Lu had gotten together in the worst possible situation. They had never had the opportunity to grow in the way he would have wished for and he doubted that they would.

Even though he wanted to, Leng Lu was resistant to any kind of advice or pleading. He’d just get it in his head that this was some kind of ploy and that somebody else had put it in his head to come to him with such requests. Then, he’d just get angry and a fallen god in a rage was never a good thing. Especially when his suspicion was mostly placed on those in power. He didn’t want him to kill the Heavenly Emperor in a frenzy or try and antagonize Tian and get killed himself. He just … wanted to make their relationship work somehow.

Li Yin quietly sipped his tea and then got back to his feet. “I’ll check on the people from my palace.”

Qiang Yan looked up in shock. “Didn’t you just come here? Come on! Everything has been prepared, I’m sure they’re doing fine. Just relax for once.”

Li Yin paused but still insisted in the end. “We have the whole Heavenly Family in attendance, the dragon king with all of his advisers, and even the demon king. Today might be the worst day to relax.”

Qiang Yan could only sigh, glanced at the table at the front of the square that had attracted the next person giving their congratulations, and then got to his feet. “Well, you’re not wrong about that. Guess I’ll join you then.” Anyway, this was his nephew’s wedding day so he’d also rather see to it that nothing bad happened.
