OMF V11C361 A Well-Disguised Blessing

Tian looked at the young couple and gave a faint hum. “The ceremony has been completed. May you stay true to your vows.” He had seen too much over the years and his trust in any marriage lasting wasn’t high. These two though … they indeed seemed to have a chance to overcome whatever issues they would face in the future. They had weathered quite a few before, after all.

He rose to his feet and turned to Jing He when the couple followed suit. The ceremony was indeed done. As for the blessing he had promised … He raised his hand, faintly touching Jing He’s forehead before he leaned closer, his voice lowering so only the three of them could hear. “I will take the curse of your bloodline from you so you may give your husband the children he desires. It won’t hinder you and neither will it hinder your descendants.

“Now …” Tian leaned back, his expression still the same. “My task here has been completed. We will see each other when the time has come.” Without another word, he opened a portal and stepped through, leaving the Nine Heavens once again.

The people below the platform heaved a collective sigh of relief. Even though Tian hadn’t done anything that could be construed as threatening, everyone still couldn’t help but think of what had happened when this person last appeared and naturally felt scared that there would be negative consequences this time around as well. But now, it became clear that they had worried too much. He truly had only come to preside over the wedding ceremony of this couple.

Looking up at the two people in wedding attire who still stood on the platform, the guests couldn’t help but think a little more. One of them was the dragon king and the other the crown prince of the Nine Heavens. The latter position came with an additional title though: the Son of Heaven. Could it be … that there was more to this than they were aware of? It couldn’t be that this person was indeed the reincarnation of Tian’s child, could it?

The audience was stunned but couldn’t figure it out for sure no matter how hard they tried. Meanwhile, the person in question felt somewhat embarrassed. It wasn’t that he hadn’t thought of the curse on his father’s family as an issue. He knew that Qiu Ling wished for a large family and he had hated the fact that he couldn’t give it to him. Now, Tian had taken care of that issue for him but … he had said so out loud in front of his husband. He … he felt a little embarrassed at the sudden statement, especially so because it brought back to mind what his uncle had said earlier this day.

Qiu Ling didn’t think too much. He just felt happy. Don’t mention having children with Jing He in the future, just knowing that his beloved now had to carry one curse less was already a blessing. Although, could it be counted as a blessing if the person who created the curse in the first place simply took it back? That seemed a bit insincere … not that he would dare to say that out loud when the other person was Tian.

He lightly cleared his throat and then turned to the side, using the opportunity to wrap an arm around Jing He’s waist. “My love, from now on, I am your husband. I have been waiting for this moment for the longest time so … after finally making it come true, we ought to celebrate.”

Jing He was pulled out of his thoughts and nodded. Of course, this celebration should be held. A banquet was customary for a wedding in the Nine Heavens and everything had been prepared ahead of time. They only needed to take their seats and then, it could start.

Qiu Ling was naturally aware of it. Seeing that Jing He wasn’t in a daze any longer, he gently led him down the steps of the platform.

Qiang Yan and Li Yin were still standing down there, waiting patiently. Compared to others, the Supreme Sovereign’s sudden appearance hadn’t shocked them as much so now that he vanished again, they looked rather composed.

Qiang Yan looked at the young couple and smiled. “Well, everything worked out in the end. Let’s get you to your seats and hope your father thinks twice after what just happened.” During Tian’s presence, Rong Su hadn’t done anything to oppose the wedding so he was somewhat hopeful that it would stay that way. Anyway, the relationship had been made official so no matter how he raged, he wouldn’t be able to change the facts. Of course, when it came to his brother-in-law, you never really knew.

Jing He looked slightly embarrassed when his father was brought up but didn’t comment and just turned to Qiu Ling.

His husband gave a hum, not thinking about the long face of his father-in-law either. No, right now, he was only interested in spending more time with Jing He. Preferably, that time would be spent alone but … it seemed like he’d have to wait for that for a while.

Sighing to himself, he also turned to Jing He. “Let’s listen to your uncle, my love. Although, admittedly, I’d love to ignore everything else and just run off with you now.” He leaned closer and kissed his temple, his lips curving up into a smile. It seemed teasing but he meant every word he said. If not because this was important to Jing He, he’d pick him up now and carry him back to the dragon realm, preferably without anyone following them.

Jing He lowered his head and nodded, holding onto Qiu Ling’s hand as they trailed behind his uncle.

Li Yin stayed back and motioned for the officials from his Court of Justice to quickly take everything down from the platform and dismantle it so it wouldn’t be in the way. After having given the command, he also went to the table he had been assigned and looked around. In the end, he could only sigh though. Nothing could be seen of Ru Zhen and Leng Lu couldn’t appear on this kind of occasion so once again, it was only him in his family.
