OMF V11C113 Three People in Love Arriving at the Capital

When the topic turned to her wife, Shou Quan’s eyes lit up and she suddenly became a lot more talkative. She sure was the image of a dragon devotedly in love. Nie Huang and Bai Mu didn’t even need to say anything to get the whole story about how the two of them had met and how their life in the capital city had been since then.

The couple exchanged a glance and smiled faintly. No matter where it was, people deeply in love were the same. No matter what happened, you tried to overcome the difficulties and make it work so that you could confront life together every single day. They had done it and thousands of couples in the immortal realms had done it as well.

While Shou Quan recounted what she thought to be a riveting tale, the group approached the capital city of the Nine Heavens. Among everyone, Nie Huang was the weakest. In fact, if not for Bai Mu being at her side and helping out, she couldn’t have kept up with the others. But then again, if not for their company, Shou Quan and the guards would have taken on their other form the moment they left the capital city of their own realm and rushed toward the Nine Heavens at full speed. Now, they had basically slowed down to escort the important guests.

No matter how slow their procession was compared to their usual traveling speed, they were still flying there so it didn’t take all that long. After about two hours, they finally arrived at the gates of the capital city.

Nie Huang looked around with wide eyes while Bai Mu next to her also surveyed their surroundings. For him, the first course of action was always to make sure that they were safe rather than to enjoy the scenery. He couldn’t help it. Not to mention the experiences he had made while younger, what had happened with the disciples of the Chun Feng Sect in front of Nie Huang back then had made him more vigilant. He didn’t dare to consider them safe unless he had truly made sure of it.

While the two of them were busy, Shou Quan already walked up to the gate. She was a bit worried about arriving with such a large group at a sensitive time but clearly, the guards knew what was up.

In fact, as soon as they had seen the dragons in the distance, they had sent somebody to the Heavenly Emperor’s palace to inform the God of War. Thus, just a moment later, the big gates opened and Qiang Yan stepped outside.

His gaze rested on Shou Quan for a moment. He remembered her and his experiences with her so far had been good. In a sense, she was a bit like adviser Fu Heng in that she didn’t talk too much and was rather straightforward but she was easy enough to work with. In the current circumstances, he was happy about that.

He greeted her and then glanced to the back, immediately spotting Bai Mu and Nie Huang. Seeing these two family members, his smile brightened up. Even though he was still tense when thinking about Jing He’s situation, he tried to see the good in it, and his son coming here with his fiancee was very far up that list.

Bai Mu caught his gaze and faintly inclined his head. He didn’t want to bother him while he was talking with Shou Quan though so he stayed back with Nie Huang. He was here to support his father and get to know his family, not to make this any more difficult.

Qiang Yan felt a little disappointed that he didn’t get to speak to the two of them immediately but he also knew that this was important business. He turned back to Shou Quan and then motioned inside. “Well, I assume we’re both not people who like to make a lot of words. Let’s go in. I’ll bring you to the palace.”

Shou Quan inclined her head and waved for everyone to follow them.

Bai Mu and Nie Huang naturally followed, taking up the spot right behind the general and the God of War.

Qiang Yan smiled at them again but continued talking to Shou Quan. “The accommodations have already been taken care of. You’ll be staying close to your king. As for how you are going to deploy in the next few days, I will naturally leave that decision up to Longjun and you. I would like for us to coordinate though.”

Shou Quan hummed. “Let’s talk it over the three of us later on. I am sure His Majesty will have some arrangements. What about the Heavenly Emperor?”

Qiang Yan hesitated but then shook his head. “This matter, it is alright to leave it in my hands. I can give you more details later after you have settled down.”

To be honest, his brother-in-law really didn’t need to get involved. He had his own group of guards that were under his direct command but those wouldn’t change their positions just because of the dragons. No, the ones who would coordinate with them would still be any additional guards Qiang Yan himself brought in. So, he’d rather not even ask about Rong Su’s input. That would only result in another tirade and he definitely didn’t want to see that happen in front of the people from the dragon race or the relationship between their races might cool down very soon.

Qiang Yan looked in the direction of the palace and sighed faintly. To be honest, even if he didn’t go to invite trouble himself, he wasn’t sure if he could prevent it from coming by itself. He knew very well just how unreasonable his brother-in-law was, after all, and in this kind of tense situation, his temper might even be worse than usual. Heaven, he could only hope that Jing He would make his decision fast and return to them or this whole matter might end in disaster.
