OMF V11C66 He Needs to Do It Alone

Qiu Ling stared at him with a dumbfounded expression. He … was useless even if he tried to support Jing He through this? Had he heard that right?

Tian didn’t bother about his hurt feelings and simply continued as if this were a matter of fact. “Whether it is you or his parents, you are all people involved in this matter. No matter what you do or say now, even if you try to stay neutral, it would only be another time that you influence his decisions. That isn’t how it should be though. He needs to make one on his own. He needs to make this realization on his own. Or even if not alone, then at least with the support of somebody who is not connected to this.”

Qiu Ling nodded. That ruled out lots of people. And seeing how Jing He didn’t easily trust others, he didn’t think they could find anyone. It seemed his beloved would indeed need to make up his mind without any outside help.

Well, maybe this was also how it should be. After all, even if they found a person who could accompany him, would that one really be a neutral faction? Or would factors like who found them and what they told them about the situation already influence them too much? Thinking of it that way, it truly seemed better to let Jing He figure this out on his own. Of course, that posed one question.

“So … then what am I supposed to do? Just quietly accompany him while he thinks things through?”

Tian silently looked at him. Obviously, he had made himself clear already.

Qiu Ling’s lips twitched. “You can’t be suggesting that I … don’t. I mean … if I stay away, isn’t that like ignoring him? Wouldn’t his heart hurt if I did? I can’t do that to him!”

Tian faintly tilted his head. “Do you want him to stay a fallen god and accompany him that way, just the two of you, or do you want him to regain his identity as a trueborn god so you can get married and live your life among the people close to you?”

Qiu Ling pursed his lips. Obviously, it was the latter. This didn’t even need to be said. But still … how could he just stay away as if he hadn’t even noticed that Jing He went missing? Were those really the actions of a lover?

He hesitated for a while and finally couldn’t help but try to bargain with Tian. “This … Wouldn’t it also send a certain message if I didn’t show up? I should at least be there when he wakes up to reassure him that we know what happened and where he is now, shouldn’t I? Also, he needs to know that we won’t blame him even if he can’t recover. This kind of thing definitely can’t be kept to ourselves!”

Tian gave him a deep look. “You appearing here will cause issues. As for what you are worried about, there is really no need. It isn’t like your lover is alone here in the High Heavens. I will relay the message and also tell him to take his time to make up his mind. There is absolutely no reason for you to appear.”

Qiu Ling pursed his lips. Alright, but … he really wanted to see Jing He. Not like he was right now but after he woke up. He wanted to ask if it hurt or if he felt uncomfortable anywhere. He wanted to find out whether there was anything he could do for him to feel better. He wanted to hold him in his arms and reassure him that everything would be good no matter what happened.

Qiu Ling sighed deeply and rubbed his forehead. He wanted to do all of those things but he also knew that he couldn’t. If this would really lessen his chances of becoming a trueborn god again, then he naturally couldn’t do a single one of these things. If he did, that would be too selfish. No, he had to put Jing He first. His beloved would definitely want to shake off the status of a fallen god and do so as soon as possible. He couldn’t keep him from doing so.

Closing his eyes, Qiu Ling finally made his peace with the current situation. Fine. If he couldn’t see him, then he couldn’t see him. It would break his heart but he could bear it for the sake of their future together.

He took another deep breath, opened his eyes again, and looked at Tian. “Then in the meantime, what should I do?” Surely, the supreme sovereign wouldn’t expect him to just sit around and wait, right? There had to be something that could be done on his side, no matter how small.

“Well, don’t you have a wedding to prepare? After all, if your lover can indeed make up his mind and become a trueborn god again, then he will naturally return to the Nine Heavens. At that time, I am sure that a wedding will be in the near future. Even if you don’t know yet when that will be, you shouldn’t wait until the last minute to prepare. Just take care of it now since you have nothing else to do anyway.”

Qiu Ling froze. Prepare for a wedding? To be honest, he would love to do that. It was just … “How can I be sure that there will be a wedding if Jing He is trying to make up his mind by himself? Maybe he will decide against me.”

Tian got up and straightened out his sleeves, making Qiu Ling wonder if he hadn’t heard him. Before turning around, the supreme sovereign gave him a pointed look though. “Do you really believe that will happen?” Then, without waiting for a response, he strode out of the palace. Clearly, he didn’t intend to chat any longer.

Well, Qiu Ling could also understand. Obviously, Tian wanted to go and spend time at his own lover’s side, not worry about somebody else’s. And anyway, he had probably said everything there was to say already.
