LBM C10 The Art of Modern Observation (2): He Invented Something Good

Yun Bei Fen continued to sit on his usual boulder and looked up at Mei Chao Bing’s house, now using the Distance Magnifying Tool of his second senior martial brother to watch Mei Chao Bing train his sword arts in the courtyard.

He couldn’t help but smile brightly watching the blade dance through the air, the white sleeves of his robe fluttering in the breeze, his black hair forming a sharp contrast against the fabric. He really was too handsome, too heroic! If he could, he would’ve loved to go over and watch him from up close. Well, with his senior martial brother’s Distance Magnifying Tool, it was almost as if he was sitting right next to him. He could see all the details vividly.

Just then, steps sounded from behind him and a flowery fragrance wafted over before a person crouched down next to him. “Junior martial brother, what a doing there? What’s that in your hands?”

Yun Bei Fen blinked and looked over, smiling even brighter. “Third senior martial brother! Senior martial brother Shen! Look, this is the Distance Magnifying Tool that second senior martial brother gave me. I can use it to magnify something in the distance.”

Luo Lin raised his brows. “Really? Like what?”

Yun Bei Fen looked through the Distance Magnifying Tool again, seeing senior martial brother Mei lower his sword and sheathe it, before dabbing at his forehead with his sleeve. Yun Bei Fen lowered the Distance Magnifying Tool again and pointed over. “That’s senior martial brother Mei’s house.”

Luo Lin smiled brightly. “So you’re magnifying your senior martial brother Mei? Let me take a look.” He reached out and Yun Bei Fen obediently put the Distance Magnifying Tool into his hands.

Luo Lin raised it and looked over, his brows raising over the two tubes. “Ah. I see. Second senior martial brother invented something good this time.” He didn’t put the Distance Magnifying Tool down again and continued to watch with rapt attention.

Yun Bei Fen didn’t think anything more about it and just waited for his third senior martial brother to finish. He could understand very well that he was so entranced. Senior martial brother Mei training with his sword was worth watching. You could learn a lot from that! It was just as his first senior martial brother always said: If you watched close enough, each fight you saw would be able to teach you something new.

Yun Bei Fen didn’t think much about it but the person that had come with Luo Lin thought quite a bit. His brows furrowed and he crouched down next to Luo Lin. “Little fairy, would you mind letting your Ah Lei take a look too?”

Luo Lin waved. “Mn, in a moment.”

Shen Lei furrowed his brows even further. Don’t kid him! He could imagine what was going on over there. He inched closer to his fairy and then pulled at the Distance Magnifying Tool, looking through one of the tubes. As for what he saw …

He wrested the Distance Magnifying Tool from Luo Lin’s hands, making him give a low yelp, and tugged it into his clothes. “There’s something I need to do. The two of you can wait here. I’ll be right back.” With that, he got up and walked straight to Mei Chao Bing’s house, rushing through the gate and smashing it close behind him.

Mei Chao Bing being looked up from the bucket of water he had just ladled water out of and raised his brows. “Senior martial brother Shen. Greetings. Is there something I can do for you?” He looked at the gate that had been smashed close quite heavily and couldn’t help but feel as if he had done something wrong. He couldn’t imagine what that should have been though.

Shen Lei huffed and went to the white robe lying to the side, throwing it at Mei Chao Bing. “Next time you want to cool yourself down after training, do it inside.” With that, he left the house, making sure to close the door behind him again.

Mei Chao Bing looked at the gate in a daze. Come again? It wasn’t like anybody would see, was it? Well, if senior martial brother Shen told him to do so, then he would do so.
