Shen Lei hummed and then turned to the Elders. “Then we’ll bring the guardian over there first so she can get an impression.”
Elder Cai and Elder Meng nodded, both hurriedly offering to accompany them as well.
Long Shu Fen rushed to shake her head. “No need, no need. Anyway, I can see that you are still in the middle of preparing for the next battle. I wouldn’t want to disturb you during such a tense time. I am just here to transport people.” With that, she directly turned and ran away the way they had come from. Anyway, she knew exactly where the bodies had been placed. Shen Lei was only giving her an excuse.
Seeing that she was already rushing ahead, Shen Lei hurriedly inclined his head toward the Elders and then pulled Luo Lin’s hand, rushing after Blue Butterfly. They managed to catch up with her almost right after they left the hall as the person had already slowed down and was waiting for them.
Long Shu Fen sighed when they caught up. “Phew, thankfully, you were there. I actually had no idea who that was.”
Shen Lei’s lips twitched. It sounded so odd to hear the guardian of a sect say this but … well, their situation was very different from what he originally might have expected so it wasn’t that surprising either. “The one who didn’t know what to say was Elder Cai while the other person was Elder Meng. “I don’t know them very well since we aren’t from the sect but from what I’ve heard, Elder Cai is known for being more cautious while Elder Meng joined the sect together with his twin sister back in the day and they both shot to fame together very fast.”
He really didn’t know much about Elders of other sects but he had heard a little more about Elder Meng, mostly because it was rare for relatives to find themselves together on the road of cultivation. There were few people who had even the slightest aptitude for cultivation so oftentimes, unless it was one of the traditional cultivation families, just one person from the same bloodline being able to enter this path every few generations was already good. Having two of them in the same generation was almost unheard of. And that was when talking about people with low aptitude which didn’t fit Elder Meng’s situation.
No, that pair of siblings should have had a high aptitude from the start and their comprehension ability didn’t lag behind either. Calling their early years ‘shooting to fame’ wasn’t an exaggeration. These two had the ability to enter the dao in mere days after just having gotten in touch with this world and then they rose one level after another.
This feat was only made more astonishing due to the fact that they usually advanced together. Whether it was the small realms in one level or a whole stage when one of them made a step forward, so would the other. Even now that they were already well-established Elders who had entered the late stage of the nascent soul realm, this was still one of the most popular stories being talked about in the world of cultivation. There was hardly anyone who didn’t know their names.
Even though this was the case, Shen Lei didn’t mention any further details. Blue Butterfly didn’t seem like the type who would care and just knowing his general identity should be enough for her. Rather than the Elders, it was better to focus on the task at hand. “How do you want to transport these disciples? Can you just … place them in your dreamscape?”
Luo Lin who hadn’t said anything so far and just left the conversation to his fiance couldn’t help but look at Blue Butterfly curiously at this. He knew that he could only copy a sliver of other people’s abilities but he’d still like to understand more about them. That way, he might become more adept at using the little he had gained and would be more of a help to Shen Lei.
Long Shu Fen hummed. “Yes, I’ll do that first and then slowly move them back. I am thinking of returning everyone to the sect they belong to.” Even though she wasn’t very familiar with specific places and didn’t know any of the people, she had been to all the four great righteous sects in the past and even if she didn’t want to talk to anyone else, she could still go to where her three friends were.
Luo Lin used the opportunity to try and get another chance to learn. “Can we help with transporting them? There are a lot of disciples …”
Long Shu Fen glanced at him and nodded. “That might not be bad, yes.” Anyway, these two could enter her dreamscape just as easily as Luo Lin’s first senior martial brother. Speaking of which … “What about that senior of yours? He can also enter the dreamscape at once so he’d also be a big help.”
“I can go and get him!”
Shen Lei looked at his lover, his gaze concerned. He knew this was for the best but … “Do you want me to come along?” He still didn’t want to leave him alone. Right now, they were each other’s layer of security, after all.
Unfortunately for him, Luo Lin shook his head. “No, it’s not far. I’ll be back soon.” He stretched his neck and placed a sweet kiss on his fiance’s lips before turning around and running off.
Shen Lei watched his back and sighed. If only the circumstances were better and this battle had already ended. He really … wanted to return to the Teng Yong Sect soon, get married, and just enjoy some quiet alone time during which they weren’t constantly on edge because they were afraid to be killed the next moment. Unfortunately, it was tough to say when such a time would come. Right now, it still seemed far off.
