[Wang Ya Ting and Huan Gui Ying were busy with their own problems and didn’t notice what was going on around them.
Huan Gui Ying placed the jug down and sighed. „I wished there was something I could do to find her too.“
Wang Ya Ting scoffed. „What do you want with a woman that would leave you for another man at the drop of a hat? Just forget about her. She’s not worth it.“
Huan Gui Ying nodded along very earnestly. „Right, right. Forget about her!“ He took another gulp of the wine before turning back to Wang Ya Ting with a tearful expression. „But what about the money? I don’t even dare to go home. My family will be furious, won’t they? Ugh, just imagining how father will scold me …“ He grimaced and once again lifted the jug. Weiterlesen

[Huan Gui Ying shook his head. „No. She said I was handsome. But then she left me. Wuwuwu.“ He tightened his grip around Wang Ya Ting’s arm, freeing his chin in the process and rubbing his cheek against Wang Ya Ting’s shoulder. „I’m not handsome at all, am I? What about that bastard with the bird? Was he handsome at least?“
Wang Ya Ting’s expression darkened and he once again slammed his fist down on the table. „Ugh! Even if he was the most handsome man in the world, he still wouldn’t be good enough for my little brother! Even the emperor can’t have him! No, what am I even saying? I wouldn’t hand Xiao Hui over even if the Heavenly Emperor knocked onto my door!“ He grabbed the jug of wine to take another mouthful but just like Huan Gui Ying before found it to be empty. He slammed it down with a curse and motioned at the waiter. „Bring me another jar!“
„Two! Bring two!“ echoed Huan Gui Ying.
Wang Ya Ting looked down. Huan Gui Ying looked up. The two of them looked into each other’s eyes.] Weiterlesen

LWS V4C33 There It Was Again

Nie Chang laughed but hurriedly stifled it with a cough. „Uh … How about skipping one chapter and seeing how much happened? If it’s not much, you could skip more and if it’s interesting again, you could just continue to read.“
Su Yan nodded slowly. „Sounds good to me.“ And since Nie Chang understood the system so well, this shouldn’t be against the rules either.
He once again picked up his phone and skipped to the next chapter. After some consideration … he skipped another one. And since he was already at it and since the novel was really horrible he even skipped a third one.
Ah, this felt so satisfying! Was there a way to skip whole arcs? He would really like to give it a try right now. But, well, he couldn’t be too greedy either or the system might really refuse to count this task and he’d have to read this from the beginning again. Thus Su Yan resolved to read at least part of this chapter. Weiterlesen

LWS V4C32 A Predictable Novel

<< previous chapter || next chapter >>

While Nie Chang stealthily drove them to their secret destination Su Yan took out his phone and continued to read the strange novel about the four birds. Unfortunately, it didn’t get any better. Or, well, maybe that was the wrong way to put it. The novel just seemed … kind of boring? There wasn’t really anything happening and the few things that happened in regards to the main characters were very predictable.
Just take Wang Ya Ting for example: After how he had been introduced in the first few chapters, it was obvious how he would react when he found out that his little brother had gone missing. Naturally, he turned the inn upside down and he wasn’t very nice in his attempts to find his little brother.
Meanwhile, Wang Ya Hui very predictably stayed with Ling Yu without any worries. He thought of his brother every now and then but he didn’t go back or sent any messages.
Honestly, did the author think her readers were idiots? Would any sane person read something like this and believe even a single word of it?! How could a person as stupid as Wang Ya Hui even exist?! Weiterlesen

„Hah?“ Nie Chang stared at his little darling uncomprehending. What was he talking about? Wearing nothing? And why was he saying it in that kind of tone? Had he done something wrong?
Su Yan harrumphed, turned back to his wardrobe and pulled a bag out. He just ignored Nie Chang and started to stuff his clothes inside.
Nie Chang scratched his head. Looking at how half of the bag was already full after just a few pieces of clothing it was obvious that Su Yan would never manage to put everything he had taken from the wardrobe in there. „Darling …“
„What?!“
„Uh …“ Nie Chang searched for the right words but had no idea where to begin. In the end, he sighed, went over and grabbed Su Yan’s hands. „Alright, stop tormenting your clothes like this. Just what made you so angry?“
„Obviously, it’s you!“ Su Yan glared at him and pulled his hands back.
Nie Chang very patiently reached out and caught them again. „Forgive your boyfriend for being a little stupid. I’m afraid I don’t quite understand. What exactly did I do wrong?“ Weiterlesen

LWS V4C30 Wear Nothing

Su Yan pouted and tried to give his bad boyfriend a reproachful look but Nie Chang didn’t fail to notice that the corners of his lips had quirked up. He was obviously very pleased with being called adorable even though he hated that his boyfriend had managed to lead him around by the nose.
Nie Chang smiled and continued to eat in a happy mood. If it went on like this, then their date today would be great.
Su Yan tried to glare a bit longer but finally just huffed and turned back to his bowl. Whatever. He could let Nie Chang have some fun considering that he had been so nice to him today. His boyfriend probably needed to tease him a bit to keep the balance or something.
Soon enough the two of them had finished eating. Nie Chang very naturally got up and started to put the dishes away. He didn’t forget to give his little darling a kiss on the temple though. Weiterlesen

Nie Chang sighed when he finally managed to pull that sweater over Su Yan’s head without lifting the blanket. Ah, he had really worked hard today. But, well, what could he do? He still wanted to have a nice day with his little darling today. If he made him angry in the morning already, he could forget about that. So, he had to be especially careful today.
„Warm now?“ Nie Chang used the opportunity to hug Su Yan’s waist and stroke his back.
Su Yan nodded happily. „I am! So, are we going to eat now?“
„Mn. Thankfully, you didn’t make things too difficult or the food would be cold by now.“ He leaned over, kissed Su Yan’s cheek and sneakily pulled the blanket back. Ah, finally, some fresh air! He honestly couldn’t understand how Su Yan managed to complain about being cold in the middle of summer. It was so warm this week. Weiterlesen

Nie Chang finished cooking in a good mood, placed everything on the table and went to get his little darling. At this moment, a certain someone had rolled himself into his blanket but was still shivering. When he heard steps approaching he looked up pitifully.
„Ah Chang!“
„Mn, my poor darling!“ Nie Chang went over, sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled the dumpling into his arms. He bent down and kissed his forehead. „You must be really, really cold. How about letting your boyfriend get you something to wear? Is there anything you’d like?“
Su Yan pursed his lips. This didn’t sound too bad although … „Can’t we just eat here?“
„In bed?“ Nie Chang blinked and looked at the bed. „It’s a little small for that, isn’t it?“ It was indeed small. In the night, it didn’t matter since they were cuddling anyway so they didn’t need much space. But if they wanted to lie down comfortably to eat, it could get tricky. Weiterlesen

LWS V4C27 Not a Bad Deal

<< previous chapter || next chapter >>

[Naturally, the Elder didn’t even bat an eyelid at the recruits’ pleading gazes. What would the test be if he helped them? Thus he just continued to stand there and observed while the situation inside the array grew more and more chaotic.
Well, the admission test of the Jin Shan Sect might not be too hard but that didn’t mean that all the recruits would pass it. In fact, it was seldom more than half of the children that made it.
The foremost reason for that was actually the third test that consisted of observing the behavior of the children while they attempted the tests. This might not be inherently difficult but all the children that came to take the test were about five to six years old, some even only four. They were old enough to understand that this test was something important and that their families had high hopes for them. But most weren’t old enough to find a solution to a problem or control their emotions when they felt like they would fail the test and thus their family’s expectations. Weiterlesen

Su Yan sighed in satisfaction. Great! Too great! This had worked out even better than he had hoped. Now he could even use this little scene for some developments in future chapters.
„Ah, I really am such a genius!“
This was the first sentence Nie Chang heard when he left the bathroom. He stopped in his tracks, waited if there would be something else to hear and went into the kitchen when nothing happened. His little darling probably wasn’t finished yet and wouldn’t appreciate it if he told him he could use the bathroom now. He should just make him something to eat and use that to lure him out of bed. Giving him something tasty would also reduce the chance of being cussed at and thrown out. Mn, he should go for another one of Su Yan’s favorite dishes.
Su Yan hadn’t noticed that something was happening outside the bedroom at all. He didn’t even hear when Nie Chang started to rummage around in the kitchen. He was completely absorbed in his story. Weiterlesen
